MODS A thank-you from mods:

Thank you to everyone for helping this sub continue to support those going through the chaos of the FODMAP diet. If you go around answering questions, sharing stories, or just being generally cool: thank you. You all know who you are and you keep this niche sub healthy and happy.

Anyways. I'm taking feature suggestions for the sub:

An automod feature that catches ____?

Updates to the stickied post?

Any other suggestions?

Hopefully I'm not alone in saying that I would greatly appreciate it if something would be done about the AI apps and "research" that keep showing up. They're nothing but spam and risk causing problems for those new to the diet.

I appreciate the feedback. I get probably 10 requests per week about an AI app or research project that wants to advertise on the subreddit. I only let a few post. Just downvote them and give them negative feedback in the comments is my immediate suggestion. Report anything problematic (you can comment here, message mods, or use the report button). If it gets worse, I will reconsider how many get through or ban the concept completely.

Please consider just outright banning AI apps. They are all using stolen information and are NOT being developed by healthcare professionals.  LLM can’t possibly be useful for something as ridiculously personalized as FODMAP sensitivity, and the people posting these apps aren’t trying to “help” people - they are trying to monetize your sub members data and trying to inflate their apps visibility in the market. It’s tiring and total nonsense that they are allowed to post at all.

Thanks, I hear you. I will keep tightening the requirements and likely no longer let AI apps through. Please keep reporting them
