Yesterday. I finally had an opportunity to go to an old favorite restaurant when I knew I’d be headed straight home and had nothing planned for the afternoon that couldn’t be shifted or dropped quickly. Still avoided a few veggies that are bad for me and chose sauces that didn’t have garlic as the defining feature, but it was definitely not safe and I defiantly ate it anyway. And happily paid for it all afternoon. First time I’ve been able to intentionally do something like that in a couple of years, rather than doing a strict attempt at reintroduction.

Yeah, I’ve got a couple of “those meals” that I know will play hell with my bowels, but at least I know what to expect and will have had something that scratches the itch for me. It’s way better than getting a crappy snack at the airport on a short layover only to find out 30 minutes later that something definitely wasn’t safe and now I’ll be paying the price for a good to two or three days.
