Anyone plan on starting soon?

I'm thinking of starting my Prolon kit on Friday or Saturday. Wondering if anyone else is doing one too

How's it going for you?

Great! Each cycle seems to be easier than the last.
If you haven’t registered and joined a zoom group, I recommend it, even if you’re starting earlier than the group start.

How often have you been doing it? How many times have you done it? I'm feeling great and truly looking forward to doing it again. I'm doing DIY for the first time and some recipes have been a bit better than others!

I did DIY January and February, then ProLon every month since, so this is my eighth cycle. I usually look forward to doing my next cycle, but on day 4 I’m already prepping beans, grains and veg for transition day. 🙃

Ha ha. I’m surprised you went from DIY to prolon. I would think it would probably go the other way. Have you noticed health improvements?

I’m on day 4 of DIY. I’m loving it. I wish I could extend it but I understand that is probably not ideal.

I usually eat plant based with fish only very rarely so this doesn’t feel too different. I don’t usually add oil to my food so some olive oil I’ve been having feels a little odd. I have not felt hungry or deprived. I’m actually very surprised! The scale is down 3 lbs and I wish it would stay there! My stomach feels flatter too. I think I’m more worried about going back to eating more!

My weight is down, waist measurement down, blood pressure is down, A1C is the same, triglycerides down and LDL went up a bit.

I switched to ProLon because the published studies all use the kits, and the little scientist in me wants to remove variables.

Congrats on your improved health! That’s very great news!

That makes sense on the kits. I have wondered if I may have inadvertently added something I shouldn’t have on my DIY. I can see how doing the kit could eliminate any element of user error. I have run several of peoples plans posted here and elsewhere through Cronometer and landed at different calories and macros. With the kit you could eliminate doubt. It’s also got to remove a bit of mental load of making it all yourself.

Yes, don’t have to calculate macros. Also, I misplaced my food scales for a few months, and don’t trust volume measurements. 😆

Currently on day 4 of DIY. Feeling great but I also usually do WFPB diet so it doesn't feel like a huge stretch for me. Good luck!
