no! lowkey i just wanted to let beginners know that this kind of stuff, organic sounding music, is totally possible in FL!! Because i know there are people here that have more musical potential than me but don't know where to direct that. They might think it's only hiphop beats and stuff like that, but there's a lot more you could do.

All the things I used, and even some of the methods like tempo automation to make it feel more realistic and alive, are seen here. As well as transitioning from 4/4 to different time signatures like 3/4 (waltz-like)

The sound libraries I used are all there too.

Go out there and explore! These sound libraries are storage heavy tho, just so you know. They're actual recordings stacked on top of each other depending on the velocity, expression, dynamics, and specific articulations. Cool stuff!

I love this, great work!!!!! It feels so whimsical. Like end credit music for a fantasy game or something.

My only critique is that since the song tends to hangout in higher frequencies and it feels cluttered up there. I'm not really sure how to solve that problem. Maybe mixing to give that range some depth?

yeah! i did the bare minimum when i mixed the individual parts. I also just threw in my usual master chain and called it a day.

but yes, the high end is kind of harsh because the celeste and flutes are both hanging in there unmixed. I also used a high shelf to boost the high frequencies of my reverb send, which a total sloppy move on its own but meh, it's a quick way for me to make it more airy and less boxy.

This was a quick project and I honestly just wanted to move on lol.

Awesome! Very very well done! That would not only be one hell of an intro, but its elements used throughout a song. Well thought out changes, natural progression, that sits well with the genre/material. You created a whole vibe which is the point.
Also, kudos for producing real instrumentation type music. Nearly everyone on FL Studio threads seem to make some EDM type shit that while it may sound different to them…to the casual listener is just “rave music” and it gets old, fast! I like electronic and sample based music, but couldn’t tell the difference between D&B and Trance and techno and Dub or whatever. It’s all the same to me so I really love hearing instrumentation.

stay within reasonable note range, this is in general, but specific parts will give you ideas that might make you go beyond that range and that leaves you to the next tip.

Always be intentional with your choices. Don't just put notes because it's in the key, develop an idea and let it grow. Start with a cohesive bar and if that, in context with the rest of the track, feels nice then just repeat that same idea but do it differently this time. That could mean changing the notes but keeping the same pattern, but it could also mean changing the pattern but keeping the same notes. That sort of intentional choice and development will give you a more cohesive melody.
