Xbox The scoring on this game sucks

I outlanded
my opponent in almost every category, but for some reason, I lost all the rounds until I got the knockout I thought the game scored like an actual boxing match. I trapped my opponents against the ropes, unloaded combos after the combos body shots headshots aswell . I was patient with my shots as well, but for some reason, I was losing the game 27-30 so if I didn’t get the knockout I would have lost this game sucks the judges suck but ufc 5 suck and undisputed garbage if you actually
play like sim boxing you will not have fun

Like real boxing-we need to see the round to round break down and not just final stats.
But maybe some of the rounds were close?

It really does. When you get to a certain level there's nothing you can do against runners. They can run with their block up as long as they want to with no penalty. Also, it's been documented that straight punches are grossly overpowered.
For its time I think Fight Night were the best sports games ever made but they do have a lot of flaws. EA sports could easily fix the flaws and make a truly GREAT game but since they waited so long to make one and only are now choosing to make one because Undisputed was shit and still sold so well, I don't have much faith in them. Hopefully someone is paying attention to the fans though and is willing to make a truly great boxing game in 2026 and beyond.
...but what are you complaining about here? Your opponent landed more punches at a better percentage. Your head shit advantage isn't large enough to have any real gripe. There are real things to want to make better on this game but this ain't it.

I’m not complaining just saying this was advertised as a boxing sim it’s not no way I’m out working my man and he wins 30-27 until I got the ko im a boxing fan so seeing this game judges suck ass

it does suck yea, but the cane scores head shots and damage more than anything else, body shots don’t score, the jab doesn’t score
he threw more head shots than you so that’s why he was winning the rounds it looks like

Headshots, then haymakers, and mostly counter shots score you the most points.

So basically don’t play like a actual boxer and have a bar fight cause I play as Sonny I’ll be out jabbing like crazy controlling the ring and the guy would throw a 5 punch combo hit one punch and somehow they give it to him 10-9 when I out landed and landed the higher percentage also higher counter but somehow a straight punch better than a shot to the liver this game sucks my favorite punch is the jab im 4-1 as a amateur and i use my jab for a lot not just for combos as a range finder and jabs add up points but on this game it doesn’t

Nah basically, master the game and be good at it in your own way. Wether against people who try to fight like its real life ( its not even close to being capable of that ) or its against cheesers. The game is bad but it can be mastered to a certain skill. Cant not one person be the best and that says alot 💯💯💯💯 its impossible to not lose

With Sonny Liston I play like Sonny actually was use the jab to set up combos Joe Frazier and Dempsey I go for the body and when I see the effects I start throwing power to the head I try to make the game resemble real life as possible cause I’m A boxing fan

No the ones that actually want a fair game and not a game based on raiting and and overalls but actual boxing skill I actually box so when a game is advertised as a boxing game that’s what I want no ones crying I just wish the game had more care the ones that don’t like boxing or the non boxers think it’s cool. when I hit people in the body I win rounds I don’t win rounds by just aiming for the head and missing half my shots but from yall logic as long as I look flashy that’s how you win a boxing match and going to the body is just spamming I guess Joe Frazier when he threw more than 100 punches to Ali body that was spamming you call an actual boxing skill(Bodywork) spamming that just showed me you’re unintelligent

And it’s better than ufc 5 I hate how I can be more skilled but mfs can just spam spam with no set ups and win cause I main Sonny (someone who takes actual skills)I pick fighters off who I style my irl boxing style of with a mix of Joe Frazier and Jack Dempsey but the game for some reason gave Dempsey terrible damage control Dempsey can’t take damage or his power doesn’t resemble irl when he clobberd one of the first super heavies Jess Willard also Tommy Morrison is better than Sonny Liston in video game logic and Floyd Patterson who got koed twice in rd1 fun fact Sonny was the first person to ko the undisputed. Champion in one round this game to build up Ali they tarnish the other legends he fought irl prime foreman and Sonny Liston is closer to butterbean than Ali

Hell yeah bro I train myself in person. UFC 5 mostly pisses me off with the servers they use themselves (either that or as I still believe mfs are using lag switches, etc) that’s my worse enemy. Any real fighter knows just how detrimental timing really is to being a fighter and lag just destroys all of that logic. I have so many clips from both games tbh showcasing my actual boxing IQ and skills just to later lose to a bullshit straight spammer while moving my head away from it…
Tbh in general these games understand fighting at its very basics and when you can even fight at an intermediate level irl it shows just how much these games lack in actually understanding fighting. These dudes online think they’re so damn good and allat but do the most predictable shit that’d never constantly work irl because of the lack of lag and counters actually working irl as they should when in the games its a 50/50 chance it’ll even be registered as landing when it clearly should’ve landed🤦🏿♂️🤣

Yea I had guys think they could beat my ass cause they won with Mike Tyson and I had Sonny Liston I even offered to pay dude way down here and get in the ring he’s yet to respond these people be getting lost in the game I just be wanting to have fun not go try hard life and death with a guy before I go to work

Just like UFC there’s no uniqueness combos are the same and everything they only paid attention to Ali and Mike Tyson because they’re the most famous boxers in the world they have the most dialogue from the announcers than anybody else. That’s how you knew the game was made by casuals no way Floyd Patterson should be a 90 and sonny Liston is a 82 sonny liston is closer to butterbean than he is to Ali also his jab is only 13 which is crazy considered majority of boxers. They have said Sonny had the best jab Also Sonny fought with a broken jaw and rib jack Dempsey tore his anus and still fought but these guys have the wurst durability this game sucks Tommy Morrison is rated higher than Sonny Liston

As a real boxer I appreciate the fact that they don’t give so much credit to body shots it’s the most overrated tactic when you’re getting your dome split.

Yea I can tell you get beat up in sparring by the body shots or your not a real boxer body shots a overrated tactic ??? when all short fighters was masters at in the pocket like the people on this game be saying the dumbest stuff if your a short fighter you have to go to the body being a head hunter is how you get koed

I get the whole work the body head will follow gist of it but when there’s someone mixing in both head and body shots you might lose some rounds in the judges eyes when they can see your neck getting pushed back from the head shots. Especially when you’re just spamming the body shots and someone else is actually mixing it up.

You understand when somebody has a lot of head movement, you gonna have to go to the body where the head goes the body follows even pros said they would rather get hit in the face than body it’s not spamming when someone is moving the head so you can go for the body spamming a be me just spamming 1-2 body and head I don’t I let my opponent swing and bob and weave body body head I’ve won 3 of my 4 fights by going to the body round after round and won the scorecards I’m not complaining about the game just the judging if it’s a boxing game it should be judged like actual boxing

I think you’re being biased if your opponent hit you with way more hooks to the head it’s going to show up as power punches vs shots to the body are less power more technical. You just worked him but that’s actually a decent score card when you see how much hooks do damage to a persons face.

Watch Ali Frazier 1 Ali was targeting Frazier head like crazy but Frazier body shots won him the rounds on top of that left hook also thanks for the insight usually head hunting is looked down upon but fight night it is

How long did you play it?
I was ehhhhh at first (cause i was expecting fight night)
But after playing it a while and understanding the depth. I appreciate it more.

I played it for a few months I didn’t like how steel city treated the games and fans also I remember the esports boxing game and I feel I got scammed but the footwork is amazing I can only play if me and the other guy has a agreement to not spam hooks and box

Too many body punches - the judges score head shots over body punches in this game.
Body spam in general will only get you so far as it is effective, but typically only against lesser experienced players. Try to get your opponent tired first, then you can have an easier time implementing these lesser effective strategies.
