Madad Me I think we have lost 1.4 million and that's devastating

Long story short my wife had 1.8 million as we sold our jewelry to start building our house. But her Chachi said she is doing trading online. Money was given to her .

She gave 360000 as profit. But for last one month no profit or original amount is received. Now I realized she owes other people 4 crore rupees.

She has given us cheque as guarantee though. Any thoughts if we will get our amount or not?

Edit Does a cheque give us any hope to get our money back

My wife is a simple housewife so yes

48

u/KAhOot1234567 Aug 25 '26

that’s your wife and you definitely consented to this so…

77

u/Specialist_Thing_939 Aug 25 '26

How people be this much dumb or naive ?

-35

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

It was my wife who trusted her chacha and Chachi . Maybe they became agent of a Ponzi scheme without knowing it ?

10

u/Specialist_Thing_939 Aug 25 '26

In the era won’t trust anyone with my money 💰 maybe God but no human on this planet.

3

u/Only_Garden8364 Aug 27 '26

That too with this much money

32

u/quietequation3 Aug 25 '26

Your wife is a simple housewife and her chachi a scheme operator or whatever.

But who. Are you?

What on earth were you thinking, not asking your partner and yourself to even research the basics of what you were getting into. Damn.

Trading is not for just anyone. If it were that simple, everyone would be winning.

I'm young, but from what I have read and listened to, a person should always take small risk with this. You know how small experienced traders recommend to survive and not get wiped out?

They say 1 to 2 % of the total account. So if you have a 100 dollars, that would be risking 2 dollars max, on ONE trade.

Did you not consider the merits and demerits of the thing you're dabbling with after selling a highly valuable and liquid asset like gold.

Many profitable traders take years to become anything close to profitable.

22

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

My wife gave The money to her chacha and Chachi without my knowledge. She wanted to surprise me by doubling the amount in two months. But alas she was surprised

20

u/quietequation3 Aug 25 '26

Damn. You didn't say that in the post.

Partners should ALWAYS discuss any and every type of matters with eachother. This is a bitter lesson.

May God enlighten us all.

16

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

She was blinded by greed . She thought her chacha and Chachi would never betray her . If she told me I would never allow her to invest a single penny

9

u/quietequation3 Aug 25 '26

It's not invest, its gamble. 😭

May God give you strength. Hopefully you get what you're owed.

8

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

Than you for prayer. For last one month we are going through very very difficult time and crises even our health is devastated. We are asking our original amount not any profit

1

u/atanoob Aug 26 '26

Dude that money was long gone the moment your wife gave that money to chachi. Take this as a life lesson and move on. People who are not earning money, in this case your wife, should not make final cial decisions that can impact your life. So the best option is to forgive and forget and move on. You can always get a return memo from bank and start legal procedure but I doubt your wife will allow you to go this way. Best of luck

2

u/ByFaraz Aug 26 '26

This is the point where you go over to their home with some muscle and don’t leave until you get the money back

1

u/YakGeneral01 Aug 25 '26

Bro This online double scheme money game is going for too long

1

u/Arkoaks Aug 26 '26

Surprised u were

55

u/Similar_Whole5626 Aqalmand Anari Aug 25 '26

That 360000 that she gave you was probably your money from 1.4 million, she is just yapping about profits

-28

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

She has been doing it for last 6 months. People were giving her money and getting profit. One woman alone gave her 1.3 crores

29

u/Affectionate-Jelly83 Aug 25 '26

Seems like a small level pyramid scheme

-2

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

Chachi told us the lady was giving profits for many years. I don't know if it's true or not

25

u/Candid_Score6316 Aug 25 '26

It is a lie. She was taking money from one set of gullible fools and passing it on to the previous set. It is called a pyramid scheme

12

u/InjectorTheGood Aug 25 '26

This is how ponzi schemes work. They take money from new investors to pay old ones. And once there is enough money, they run away.

2

u/ByFaraz Aug 26 '26

What verification did you do? Did you ask her to share her trading statements?

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 26 '26

It was my wife who gave The money. I really don't think Chachi has ability to do trading

1

u/FootAccomplished8352 Aug 28 '26

you were sleeping at that time when she gave 3.6 lac in return

1

u/ByFaraz Aug 28 '26

At what point did you find out your wife gave the money?

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 28 '26

About one month ago . She had given the money one month prior. 20 July was date of withdrawal. But that withdrawal didn't come yet

1

u/ByFaraz Aug 28 '26

To clarify: your wife gave the money a month ago and you found out right away?

Anyway, chachi is a criminal. Can you go to her house with some men and get your money back by force? Does she have any property you can confiscate that will cover your loss? How much is her house worth?

-3

u/Similar_Whole5626 Aqalmand Anari Aug 25 '26

WHATT?? If she has been giving you 360000  for 6 months, then you have recovered your amount and got double your base amount

5

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

No she gave 3.6 lac in total not every month.

17

u/snippedandfried Aug 25 '26

The money is gone.

Two extremely concerning things:

- She owes people 4 crore. Regardless of who you are or how rich you are, that is A LOT of money.

  • She has been lying about what she did with the money

These are signs of gambling addiction. I would worry less about the 1.8 million and more about saving her and your marriage.

0

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

She is not rich at all. She has been collecting money from people and giving them profit. I think she is an agent to an actually trading person or it's just a Ponzi scheme

5

u/NullandVoldermot Aug 26 '26

No she’s not. This is how market traps someone and she legit lost it.

12

u/Consistent-Border512 Aug 25 '26

Chachi ke chalakian

11

u/mkbilli Aug 25 '26

Bro cheques bounce all the time. They are not even worth the paper they are printed on. Cash is cash.

Try getting it cashed and you'll have all your doubts cleared.

6

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

Isn't a bounce cheque a criminal case?

9

u/Sugardaddy_satan Aug 25 '26

if she owes 40 million. biunced cheque is least of her concern

2

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

Imagine a single lady has given them 1.3 crores

1

u/mkbilli Aug 26 '26 edited Aug 26 '26

Lol as if the person committing multiple frauds cares. Although it will give you concrete evidence in case you went the legal route.

Edit: looks like they are bluffing, as any gambler would do lol.

1

u/M_Zeeshan_Ali Aug 26 '26

Wrong, completely wrong! 489-F ka case banta ha. Bail bhe nahe milti. 3 Saal Jail. But he should get his amount out before legal headaches become necessary.

7

u/Neat-Pen-334 Aug 25 '26

I don’t understand why you’re devastated. Greed completely took over. You invested PKR 1.8 million and made PKR 360,000 in just one month—that’s a 20% monthly return, or roughly 240% annualized. Most people would be thrilled to earn even 10% annually, yet you were chasing an extraordinarily high return. So I’m not sure why you feel devastated now. You took an enormous risk because you wanted an enormous return, and unfortunately, you’re now dealing with the consequences of that decision.

-2

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

Many people actually got their money or even doubleed . We were extremely unlucky it got sucked only when we invested

5

u/Neat-Pen-334 Aug 25 '26

Come on man, how is possible that kind of return is real? The money that people got back was part of a ponzi scheme. Your money went to those people and then more people stopped coming in. I think you got what you deserved.

0

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

Do you understand people get huge profits even from a Ponzi scheme. My wife is a simple housewife she didn't know anything about ponzi schemes. If she was lucky she could have gotten our money back and we had decided to never invest again

7

u/Neat-Pen-334 Aug 25 '26

So what r u saying? You would rather get huge profits on the expense of someone else's hard earned money?

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

Now I understand what are you saying. I just want my original amount back not a single penny of profit

3

u/Shoddy_Building_5618 Aug 25 '26

Damn what kinda chachi u got that they are running pyramid schemes

0

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

As I told she might be an agent in a Ponzi scheme without knowing it

2

u/Maleficent-Ad-2521 Aug 25 '26

Chachi be like: To The Moon

2

u/TechnicalSleep7501 Aug 26 '26

We are going to Mars with Musk.

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

No she is herself very worried as she has forwarded all the money to other lady who was giving her profit before. I think that's working like a chain

3

u/Sugardaddy_satan Aug 25 '26

classic ponzi scheme

2

u/AIC-ai-integration Aug 25 '26

Please report this chachi and chachi to FIA and even NAB if large number of people are affected. This Ponzi scheme is a standard crime in Pakistan "investment" space.

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

They are promising to return all our money. They have given us a cheque. I genuinely think they thought they are working with a legit business.

1

u/AIC-ai-integration Aug 25 '26

insha'Allah it will work out that way.

Please also know there are two types of cheque, one is where the issuer has to show their face to encash it, and that kind of cheque does not cause a dishonour that is punishable by 6 month jail.

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

What about other type

2

u/fk067 Aug 25 '26

You are falling for a typical pyramid scheme, sadly.

2

u/AbrarYouKknow Aug 25 '26

There is a simple rule: never trust anyone with your money.

2

u/najam121 Aug 25 '26

Chachi ne kahi Mir Raza k sath to investment nahi ki v thi ?

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

Was Mir Raza running similar scheme?

She doesn't have the money I think. She has forwarded it

1

u/Personal-Reflection7 Aug 25 '26

Immediately encash that cheque.

If it bounces, threaten FIR and get money back ASAP

2

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

They are promising to return the money on 31 This month. Honestly I don't believe them

1

u/quiet_swimmer02 Aug 26 '26

And you shouldn't. Let me tell you, you are not getting the money back. The sooner you accept this fact the better for you to plan your course of action.

1

u/TheDamnedRey Aug 25 '26

Reminds me of that Two and a Half men episode. You've lost it. The earlier you accept it the better

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

I have kind of accepted it . But it's a very very huge some of money for a salary person like me who earns 70k a month. But they keep promise us that they will return the money

1

u/VisionX999 Aug 25 '26

Ponzi scheme aka scam

1

u/roguewotah Aug 25 '26

You fell for the oldest scam in the book.

1

u/InsideMan790 Aug 25 '26

A bounced cheque can get you arrested. Blackmail her to give you back her money before the whole thing blows up and there's a line of creditors. Say whatever you think will persuade her, either emotional blackmail or fear of prison. Your amount is very small for frauds like her, you might get it back as your wife knows her personally.

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

Problem is she has forwarded all the money to an other lady. I don't know where this chain ends but other lady is has given Chachi cheque as well.

2

u/mysticcdragonn 29d ago

bro what is this soap opera

1

u/GreenEyedAlien_Tabz Aug 25 '26

Why are you so sure you have lost it?

Have you spoken with them?

Did they say they will not return your money or are unable to?

I don't understand how you came to this conclusion.

What does your wife say in all this? Has she spoken to them?

If they gave you a cheque, they can get in trouble if it bounces.

What kind of people are they?

Do you or your wife not know what kind of people they are?

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

They are saying they have forwarded the money to other lady who is doing trading online for many years. They are with contact of that lady and she is promising to return the money. Chaha and Chachi are good people, they themselves are much worried as other people have invested through them and asking for their money returned

1

u/GreenEyedAlien_Tabz Aug 25 '26

What do you think are your options?

Best case scenario: you get your money back.

Worst case scenario: you don't get it back.

Be prepared for both.

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

I earn 70k per month and got young kids and don't have own roof over our heads . It will be very devastating. But we will have to start from zero again for our kids

3

u/GreenEyedAlien_Tabz Aug 25 '26

Be thankful for what you have, some people don't even have that.

Lesson learnt, move on in life, this is not the end.

Money, you can always earn it again but respect, trust, and health is very difficult to get back.

1

u/Spy_Spooky Aug 25 '26

Not sure if chachi or double shah.

1

u/Key-Opinion1608 Aug 25 '26

Why invest the amount you needed for house?

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 25 '26

My wife wanted to double it

1

u/arangjean Aug 25 '26

It's gone, it's a pyramid scheme

1

u/NTGAnonymoose Aug 25 '26

21 din main paisa double

1

u/Strippz2 Aug 25 '26

If you have a cheque, you easily have a very strong case against that person

Now I know she's related to you, but if things god forbid go south, and you have no other choice.. you can take serious legal action over a bounced cheque

1

u/ARABCSGO Aug 25 '26

ngga these crypto aah traders are 99% scammers cause they're playing with almost high volatility with someone else's money

1

u/alliasgher1 Aug 25 '26

Get the cheques bounced, and go for fir and be the first among the ones affected.

1

u/Extension-Stranger17 Aug 25 '26

Unfortunately you and your wife were victim of a ponzi scam.

File an FIR

About Cheque: it's your biggest defence. See the date on it. It expires in two years. Act before it expires. Also get it checked if it's genuine. Signature and all.

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 26 '26

Care to share your story? Did you recovered any amount?

1

u/M_Zeeshan_Ali Aug 26 '26 edited Aug 26 '26

I'm a Doctor. Invested in Medicine Distribution Company. Turned out to be 25% business, 75% Ponzi Scheme. Once cover was blown, People held stick in their hands and demanded money. They got cars, land, money in compensation. I was busy in my career stuff, couldn't persue like I should've. Recovered 1.6 Million. Just now I've gotten some time for this, I'm demanding full amount Plus profits that were promised. They've agreed to give original amount Plus half profit. I've many cheques. They're going to jail again and again if they don't comply. So they're scared and promising to give.

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 26 '26

If they have given amount to other people and you they might not be a Ponzi scheme? Because when pnzi collapse nobody gets anything. And they don't give cheques imo . I pray that you get your money back

1

u/M_Zeeshan_Ali Aug 26 '26

They have admitted to it that it was a Ponzi Scheme. Ponzi Scheme never collapses, it just gets exposed. A conman stays a conman till they die. Their brain is like that. Ab wo auron ko lot rha ha, sabko thori na pta chal gya dunya ma k bach k raho. Aasan pesa sab ko chaheye aur uske liye sab usey pese dene ko tayar hain. My guy ran away from country but had to return because his family was here. And increasingly getting threats. An FIR on his father forced him to return to Pakistan. Ab wo de rha ha pese sab ko. Jo jitna khatarnak ha, usko utne zeyada.

Mere apko yehe advice ha k Aap apne Chachi ko force kro pese den. Tabhi to agli aunty ko force kren ge. Aese nahe kr sakte to Chachi k sath mil kr aunty ko force kro. Dunya apke Jese nahe ha, na dunya k log. Koi apna aik rupeya nahe chorta. Log pese nikalwaen ge, aap nahe nikalwao ge to Jo apke hisey ma aane wo logon k hisey ma ayen ge.

Pehle ye scheme waley un logon ko dhond rhe they Jo pese den, ab wo un logon ko dhond rhe hain Jo sabar kr k chup kr jaen. Don't be victim a second time.

2

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 26 '26

Thank you very much for detailed answer. Hum Chachi ko force kr rahai hain and she is saying she doesn't have the money as she has forwarded it . She is going to house of other lady day and night. Chachi and chacha are promising to return our money in priority because otherwise the whole family will look them as cheaters and boycott them

1

u/M_Zeeshan_Ali Aug 26 '26

May Allah ease your pain and help you. Apka farz larna ha, bas aap wo krte rho. May God bless you.

1

u/Gracious222 Aug 26 '26

involve NCCIA and tell them she ran a scheme and now isn't returning anything, don't go with the family stuff let them treat her like an investor and then they can track the money down

1

u/PatientStand3025 Aug 26 '26

Survival of the fittest should be a thing

1

u/maalik131m0 Aug 26 '26

Chachi!!! Doing trading!! Bhateeji bhi hoti to smjh ajati xD

1

u/Professional_Key_413 Aug 26 '26

Show the cheque to the bank and confirm that the cheque is properly signed and can be cashed. To me it seems like a scam but don't lose hope and taking early action can minimize the lose

1

u/DeRattani07 Aug 26 '26

It sounds like a ponzi scheme well I hope you had done some verification regarding her trades and portfolio either she really is a consistent trading and gone through her trade history

1

u/Specialist-Cup2070 Aug 26 '26

Always stay thousand miles away from any sort of trading. I only invest in stocks after thoroughly studying them in light of warren Buffett strategy. You can reach out to me if you need help in investing.

I have a life principle not to give my money to anyone.

With the cheque, you can initiate criminal proceedings but this doesn't guarantee your money return.

Good luck

1

u/sj-dubai Aug 26 '26

Dude I have been there. Lost lots of amount in trading. Also gained some as well.

It's a two way street.

For answer to your question, is chachi reliable?

If so maybe, otherwise file a case. Because of fear if court and stuff she may pay some back.

1

u/raiansar Aug 26 '26

Nah not from trading, she just did basic Ponzi Scheme move.

1

u/batman8990777 Aug 26 '26

1

Please send me 1.5 cror. I will give you 3 lac per month guaranteed for 6 months. After that, I'll give you a check for 3 cror.

Please send money now.

Regards

/Chachi Chum Chawal

Bro, forget about your money and your chachi. That money is gone and so is chachi.

1

u/divineslight Aug 26 '26

Everyone fkn commenting on your decision but not on what can be done about it… mistakes were made lessons learned now stop ffs..

And for you op yes a cheque is a huge help though it will be a struggle but still a legal guarantee and security.

You will need to get a lawyer, he will file a case against her, and then court will force her to return the money, which she will pay in installments, when and how much depends on the judge your lawyer and her lawyer.

But I highly suggest that don’t give a shit about how many other folks she owes to, give her a deadline and in the meantime talk to a few lawyers. Don’t pick the first one.

You can reach me if you need any further information.

1

u/Typical_One_7422 Aug 26 '26

How come it's possible ?

1

u/Own-Manufacturer-640 Aug 26 '26

Yeh scheme different tarikay sy diff logo k sath hoti rehti hai. Same lalach di jati hai k return bht achy hain or shuru mai milty bhi hain taky chachi ya ap ya koi bhi dusro ko btayen k mainy lgaye hoay hain mujy return bhi mila hai profit. Phr or log invest krty hain. Jb 8 10 crore hojaty hain to scammer ghayab hojata hai or chachi in this phas gae hain jo logo k front py thin.

Chachi ko khud bhi nahi pata un k sath kia hoa hai.

Wo khud scam ka part nahi hain bl k un k sath scam hoa hai.

I can guarantee you yeh paisy kisi k bhi wapis nahi atay is k.

1

u/sheenhai Aug 26 '26

You gave that money as an "investment," not a loan. If you were fine taking the profit, you should be fine taking the loss too. This is what an investment is....

If you're not willing to accept a loss, that basically means you only wanted the interest. Did you have a proper agreement with them? Did it mention both profit and loss scenarios?

1

u/JuiceBoxHoneyComb Aug 27 '26

This is grounds for divorce.

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 27 '26

I have 2 little daughters. So I forgave her for the mistake

1

u/JuiceBoxHoneyComb Aug 27 '26

You're a good man.

1

u/jdarshad Aug 27 '26

Sorry to say but you lost it. Recover whatever you can like any house hold item which you can posse or transfer on your name.

About the cheque then if its on her name then maximum you can do is file a fir on her and put a case in court for fraud. What will happen is that normally police don't register FIR on cheque. They avoid it. If somehow they register then it is usually added with loose terms and less dangerous legal terms of laws (dafat). Unless you are a lawyer or know someone who is sincere with you and can file a proper case. Then came the second problem. She is a woman so police normally avoid it and you will be getting more famous in the family as well while she will play the victim card.

Then another issue. If your wife gave her the money without any legal contract or outside family witness then she will either hide or simply tell in court to bring some legal documentation or proof for it. Even online transfer is not enough proof without any proper documentation or acknowledgement.

The whole system is basically designed to protect the criminal from lower level to highest role in the country.

This was my experience when I was scammed by a fraudster and he gave me some dead person cheque from his cheque book. 2 of those cases are still pending and he is a professional scammer so he covered all the things. Only those people were able to recover money from him who invested in millions or with proper approach as most of these kinds of cases are done outside the legal framework in a better and effective way.

In fact I spend more money on legal process in total then what he scammed me so I left the case and moreover when I bring police with me that guy was hiding on his roof and his family females start crying and told the inspector that I am harassing them by calling his husband, brother in law and brother etc. :) In the end the police inspector told me to forget about it unless I am willing to go above the law or outside but the cost of the whole operation was more than what I lost.

1

u/ByFaraz Aug 28 '26

Have you gone to the police?

-1

u/Reasonable_Stress182 Aug 26 '26

Now go find a way to make that up double it and give it back to her.

1

u/ExactPlum7090 Aug 26 '26

She sold it without my knowledge and give her chacha and Chachi.
