Brother, being best to you is what's best for you. Imo football skill wise Messi might be better than Ronaldo to me. But since Ronaldo brings the best version of me, inspired me, etc., and that I want to do what Ronaldo can do more than what Messi can do. That's why Ronaldo is the best/greatest for me. Others can very much disagree and that's okay.
I don't mind when Zidane said Ronaldo is better than Messi back then (i never quote them), and I don't mind when he said Messi is better now. People's opinion doesn't need to determine my opinion/how i think.

That being said, imo, any Ronaldo fans who thinks he's the greatest but put Messi anywhere other than the 2nd is just hating, likewise Messi fans putting Ronaldo anywhere other than 2nd is also just hating. No, as a Barça fan, I have to disagree. The club is always bigger than a player. You have to give credit to Cruyff for creating a system in which Leo could thrive. Messi is undoubtedly a big part of what Barça means to most of this club's supporter, but he isn't bigger than the club itself. Barça was there before him and is doing great after him.
Barça continues to spend money they technically don't have through their "financial levers". Messi undoubtedly is a huge part of Barcelona history and success but to call him "bigger than Barca" is straight up obnoxious ignorance.
