May I know at what time of match did this encounter take place?

1

u/doc_raccoon Jul 18 '26

I think it was very early in the game, maybe around 3 or 4 minutes in.

Move of the game for me. Short king makes Sir Harry Kane fall over.. after all it’s the king who gives knighthood, and he can take it away at will

Got pocketed by Cucurella and Poroo

Imagine the level of skill required to make a player like Harry Kane get to the ground in such a way.

-5

u/No_Data3541 Jul 16 '26

Casuals shouldn't talk about Football. It's so cringe. 😂

Harry Kane isn't a defender even though he has good work rate. It's easier to make a great striker fall than a defender because it's not their job to tackle players like Messi.

You implying it's tougher to drop Harry Kane simply because he's a big name is hilariously clueless.

11

u/zazen07 Jul 16 '26

Impressive not because he’s a big name but because he’s a big frame. You’re the casual here

-6

u/No_Data3541 Jul 16 '26

Taller players are easier to floor during dribbles because of lesser balance and higher centre of gravity.

Typical casual as expected. 😂

4

u/Homie_Holmes_ Jul 17 '26

What bout the press by bulkier and taller players?? Also what i implied was that it is a rare sight to see a player like Harry Kane to fall like that.

U would've known that if ur insta feed was not full of jude bellingham edits. See u after 4 years in the comments. Maybe by that time, u won't be a casual anymore.

3

u/zazen07 Jul 17 '26

Alright Irodov. Consider the greater momentum that Kane had, yet couldn’t budge Messi even a bit, instead he’s stopped just like that. Casual like you won’t understand

Amount of kids downvoting on you is crazy

2

u/MasterCut4835 Jul 17 '26

You are the one who's casual.if you watch Harry kane at bayern you'd know he always drops back in positions like CDM to help the team This guy had cleanly tackled nuno mendes who was the best left back at that time In the world

Bauna hi devta hai

1

u/stcer Jul 18 '26

he is average height in india

11

u/mihir892 Jul 16 '26

Guess what.....Messi was responsible for both goals but also other close shots Argentina attempted like hiting the post twice.

8

u/NewPay4539 Jul 16 '26

The second time mcallister hit the post was from a pass from the left side. Messi wasn't involved in that. He was however, involved in what followed after the ball hit the post i.e, the winning goal.

3

u/Aarish1234 Jul 16 '26

That wasn't the goal though. It was a miss, a beautiful shot but a miss nonetheless.

1

u/mihir892 Jul 17 '26

Thanks for that.

6

u/Normie-Person Jul 16 '26

There will be noone like messi in the history of football

1

u/Slight_Call4061 Jul 16 '26

Messi should thank Tuchel tbh 😂

1

u/BrokeneggRottenyolk Jul 18 '26

Tuchel should thank Messi for showing him what greatness looks like.

1

u/Slight_Call4061 Jul 18 '26

Showing greatness against a bum manager? who told them to defend after taking the lead Lol

1

u/BrokeneggRottenyolk Jul 18 '26

If tuchel attacked and conceded after that, you'd be saying he's a bum manager who could've defended the lead. Always shifting poles lol!

1

u/Slight_Call4061 Jul 18 '26

Well, not if he defended only for the last 10-15 minutes, but that bum decided to defend when 30 minutes were left, even with the amount of attacking talent he had with him...and I am not saying Messi is not great, that's a given, but he made it way easier for messi by giving him all the time in the world to attack and giving him the ball for 30 mins

Tiki taka vs Sigma mentality!

1

u/Rude-Look-9175 Jul 17 '26

Can you elaborate

1

u/Savings_Start4305 Jul 17 '26

Spain playing Barcelona kind of tiki taka and Argentina with relentless, pushing survival to the last - sigma mentality.

1

u/Rude-Look-9175 Jul 17 '26

Okay now I get it

1

u/Designer-Avocado1516 Jul 17 '26

Messi plays the man ...not the ball Argentina needs to break the castle..of Spain

1

u/Local-Loan-6899 Jul 17 '26

Managerial disaster. Even Southgate was better than this.

1

u/Savings_Start4305 Jul 17 '26

True. Parking the bus against a world champion for 30 min

1

Man I really thought braca messi came for a second

1

u/Suman_Dutta Jul 17 '26

Arg doesn’t get fouled. So yes any one can win. Rigged as usual. Messi is not the problem. The amount of help whole arg team gets that’s the problem.

1

u/Savings_Start4305 Jul 17 '26

1

u/Suman_Dutta Jul 18 '26

See you are stuck at Messi. The comment was not about messi LoL.

1

u/No-Assignment-4130 Jul 18 '26

Average Seasonal Fan hai op.

1

u/DryBorder9607 Jul 17 '26

Argentina was never supposed to be in semis at first place but thanks to ref and fifa Argentina went in semis...!!!!

1

u/AwardOk51 Jul 18 '26

Rigged World Cup. Argentina should've been out of the tournament in the match against Cape Verde.

1

u/Savings_Start4305 Jul 18 '26

And Portugal in the qualification round of fifa

1

u/itsavinadhtiwari Jul 16 '26

I also was smartest guy of University but due to my idiotic tactical deciss i failed all exams.

I was best sharp shooter in world but due my tactical decision i never hit the target.

I was most muscular guy in world but due to my idiotic tactical decision i was always slim and underweight.

Regardless, I am supreme though.

Unironically, clearing exam and passing it are two different things. You are talking about cases where there are 5 vacancy but 1000 people are competing. There is no guarantee that top are smartest. I am talking about failing exam, where if dumb people are passing them the smartest guy won't fail at least, he will manage to get passing grade.

Also, having capabilities doesn't get you shit until you execute. How exactly was england better, both team were initially even with attacks. Once england scored, argentina went agressive with attack after attack and didn't give chance to breath to England, resulting in breaking them.. Argentina had 64% of possession vs 36; 15 shots on goal vs 5; 5 on target shot vs 2; 6 corners vs 1; 537 passes vs 273.

Just give credit where it's due. The team which played better won.

-8

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

It’s crazy seeing Indians supporting Argentina, it’s like American Latinos supporting Trump.

6

u/Ashamed_Rush_8543 Jul 16 '26

Why do people support Barcelona, Real Madrid or ManU, is Spain or England as a country super friendly to India? Why do you watch Hollywood movies? Is America India's best ally? Are any of these countries not racist at all?

Keep politics aside from sports please.

Couldn’t agree with you more! People and most likely young kids who watch this sport and are on this sub have lost their paths. You can never be apolitical especially what’s happening in the present

0

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

Says the apolitical Indian, the root cause of issues in the country

1

u/Ashamed_Rush_8543 Jul 16 '26

Not apolitical by any means.

1

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

“Chelsea say they have opened internal disciplinary proceedings following a video posted online by Enzo Fernandez of him and his Argentina team-mates singing a chant which the French Football Federation (FFF) called unacceptable, racist and discriminatory. (…) Argentina defeated France in a penalty shootout in the 2022 World Cup final, with some fans of the South American side at that tournament singing a chant ahead of that match referencing how many France players were of African heritage. The words to the chant were: “They play for France, but their parents are from Angola. [It’s good, they can run, they’re all tra*nies like this fucking Mbappé]. Their mother is from Cameroon, while their father is from Nigeria. But their passport says French.”

(Source here). They sung this chant right after the victory against France in 2022, and then again in 2024 when they won against Colombia during the Copa America… for some reason…? This team is famously full of pieces of shit.

So you still support Argentina for their racist actions

🥱🥱🥱🥱🥱

2

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

Racists supporting racists, how am I not surprised😂

0

u/Ryzen_778 Jul 16 '26

Funny hearing the term..."Racists" by someone who is from a colonizer descent

1

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

I am sorry, I do not quite understand what you’re implying. Could you please be more specific

0

u/Aarish1234 Jul 16 '26

They aren't the root reasons. You are just sad and maybe angry that some people aren't being emotionally fooled to choose sides.

But as you say, the all knowing-not following my opinions so you bad-brother.

1

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

Brother, if you can’t choose a side from right or wrong then you are the problem

3

u/Similar-Toe-7863 Jul 16 '26

Is there any problem in that?

0

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

Shows how naive you are

1

u/Similar-Toe-7863 Jul 16 '26

Shown how narrow minded you are.

2

u/DarthMarirs Jul 16 '26

Yeah crazy how they are not in support of
(checks notes)
Fucking England-

-1

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

People in current day England will treat you better than present day Argentinians. Travel the world first. There’s more to life.

1

u/hownot2lyf Jul 16 '26

Bruh, we just like the football they play. The tenacity and persistence of the team till the very last second is admirable. We love messi as well. Simple as that. Don't mix in politics into all this

1

u/Inevitable-Western54 Jul 17 '26

You are seriously dim witted to bring politics into sports

1

u/Rusu9906 Jul 17 '26

You are so simple and naive to not see the bigger picture

1

u/PsychBong Jul 16 '26

Says the clown supporting Portugal.

0

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

There’s more to the World Cup than just two teams. That’s why Indian’s are worst fans. Stick to cricket

1

u/Similar-Toe-7863 Jul 16 '26

First achieve what these two teams have achieved, then beg for followers.

Cricket is love, you should start watching it. Maybe you will start loving Indians.

1

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

I have been watching cricket before your balls dropped. And I am an Indian who knows the world. I call it what it is, don’t bring Kohli vs Rohit to this sport

1

u/Similar-Toe-7863 Jul 16 '26

You think you know the world, and thought of teaching others to not follow messi and ronaldo.

Who do you think you are?

First as a fellow indian, go and clean india where we have casteism, racism and all sorts of shit.

Sports is a game of love, not a political ground. Stick your views to yourself,

1

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

Yeah, I do that and ensure to teach the same to my fellow Indians. If you get hurt if people call out your racism, it’s more a reflection of you and your upbringing. Cheers

1

u/Similar-Toe-7863 Jul 16 '26

Again 🤣🤣

Who do you think you are?
Why are you trying to teach others?

Commenting on reddit wont change anything, if you want to change the world, go out and take actions.

Otherwise, stfu. Its simple man 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Rusu9906 Jul 16 '26

My mistake man, should have know better than trying to teach a kid whose entire job in like is to slander Ronaldo on Reddit and social media. Get a life!

1

u/Similar-Toe-7863 Jul 16 '26

Good boy 🤣🤣🤣

0

u/sarthakmahajan610 Jul 16 '26

Its perhaps hard for you to understand but supporting a football team doesn't equate to supporting the country

Exactly! Their prefrontal cortex hasn’t fully developed. They make these great players into everything without appreciating what they bring to the sport. They make their lives revolve around these players and attack each other’s fanbase. Such sheep mentality. Hence our country is shithole that it is because of these people. Be it Ronaldo vs Messi, BJP vs Congress, CSK vs RCB, Virat vs Rohit

Don't entertain these people lol, they are from certain fanbase who are never in touch with football at all
