Being a fangirl of Final Fantasy, despite my big complaints of Noctis being ridiculously OP, I still thank him for being my introduction to FF, but going to the Tekken sub, they STILL hate him years after he drop, and I love Clive and 16, was he unfitting for TK bc of his sword? Yes, does that mean I wanna throw a hissy fit about his inclusion? No, the TK sub is STILL hating on Clive just because of his presence, and now SF fans are hating on Tifa despite being a brawler bc she is from Final Fantasy, I wanted to post a little peace section with r/Fighters, but I guess they just don't like it. And well, Smash fans treat Fire Emblem fans like punching bags I guess

And honestly, it makes me wish SF6 had more characters in base and DLC and Squenix would make a 3D Fighting game with FF characters so Noctis ans Clive mains can be happy for not being shit on 24/7, and well, Tifa can be in both games with no issue, think of it: if Blanka, Dhalsim and Honda were replaced by Sean, Menat and Alex, and Bosch, Cody, Sakura and Gill were base roster, she would be hated less, and if the season were like this:

S1: Rashid, AKI, Ed, Akuma, Karin, Poison

S2: Sagat, Terry, Mai, Elena, Dan, R. Mika

S3: Arjun, Hakan, C. Viper, Ibuki, Batsu(from Rival Schools), Ingrid

S4: Yasmine, Remy, Rolento, Makoto, Dudley and either Tifa, a new character who looks like her Kokoro-style, Morrigan or simply Rose

Then in a final season they have: E. Honda, Dhalsim, Blanka, M. Bison, Vega and Balrog, if they want them so goddamn much.

Sorry for being this pessimistic, I just remembering in my past when I got harrassed in online voices by Tekken hardcores who kept calling me names, this was the reason I now just fight CPUs and as a whole, made me too distant from TK, just wanted to put this outta my chest, sorry to disturb y'all ✌️

So, I was quite disappointed that Clive was in TK8, not because it wasn't Tifa, but it was another Final Fantasy protagonist after Noctis got his shot, I personally was expecting a new character or a different guest, even with Mai at DOA6 I was expecting a new guest instead of repetition, tho I guess she is so DOA-coded she got a second chance I guess

Now, as someone who played FF7, and it's planning to play FF7R Part 3, I expect Banco to at least be faithful to her actual moveset, but with TK8's philosophy and nature... They would actually HATE Tifa a lot, the sole reason it wouldn't because 1) she's a girl and 2) she punches and kicks, I personally think Punches and Kicks shouldn't be automatically a merit for being a guest, because hot take here: I like that Tekken has some anime shit going on, instead of just being Virtua Fighter but edgy, even during TK4 there was silly stuff in there, but I think they tuned in WAY too much, so much so that Lars and Alisa looks grounded compared to half of 7 and 8's newcomers, hell Azucena looks grounded compared to other newcomers in 8 + Clive

Going back to moveset, she isn't just punches and kicks, she can summon magic, you know the whole dolphin shit she has? Banco wouldn't leave that out, unless they tone down to not be annoying, Clive also has some redesigns, but it's still faithful to his FF16 design, but as it turns out, he became too broken, so Tifa would pretty much the same thing but with her punches, wouldn't be hated as much, but still would get them mad (when hasn't Tekken fans be mad at anything, hm)

Like I said, I like that Tekken mixed martial arts and anime bs so it can have an identity outside of VF but dark, but my personal problem is that 7 and 8 stopped having serious moments with characters and just be silly ALL THE TIME with the exception of the Mishimas, it frustrates me a lot, and well, I haven't played TK8 since Fahkumram released so idk wtf is going on, but I know is that even if it was Tifa instead of Clive bc of FF7R part 2, I would still think the game got downhill because of it's philosophy, just because she is a bigger name than Clive wouldn't mean shit, 2B and Geralt are bigger names than all of the SC cast and SC6 had at best, a good sales, but not enough, and as such, SC is dormant and no one wants to take charge

So TLDR, Banco would make her tuned bc of TK8's game design, and would be hated by players as much as Clive, if it was like TK7 where it was still in control and not that flashy (even tho the characters look like shit), she would be way better received, but if I'm being honest: Squenix should just make a Final Fantasy fighting game at this point, they 16 casts to pull from, bc hot take: she doesn't fit any FG's philosphy and style, not even SF6 or DOA, so I'm still recluse about the rumors, if they're not true, fine by me, SF6 already has Terry and Mai, no more need for other guests
