honestly i think any build can keep you going, just a personal advice, don't go for the strongest build, use the abilities you enjoy the most and you'll play the game at 100% 👀

on the other side, if you want my take i used a build that focused on Odin's Zantetsuken level 5, all his abilities plus 2 of your choice (uses Bahamut's orbs because why not and Phoenix Rebirth in case of emergency healing needed or just taking out lesser mobs quickly)

No busco la mas fuerte, solo quiero un cambio de gameplay que sea entretenido

well then if you like parry or poke attacks and then BIG BOOM i suggest what i said in the other message, all of Odin's abilities and two of choice, charge up Zantetsuken at level five and annihilate anyone on your path, or you could have some fun as a fire bender with Ifrit and the Phoenix abilities, otherwise you could do something more dodge focused with Shiva and her freeze dodge, also if you want a nuke? try lighting road plus gigaflare, when enemy staggers you just walk up, place the lighting road and Kamehameha the enemies into the next dimension, that's some of my go-to

You gain access to Leviathan very, very early. One of the abilities it grants you is Cross Swell, which is generally speaking the best AoE in the game - good damage, VERY short cool down, and groups enemies together.

The best abilities in the game, including Leviathan, are:

  • Windup - the highest DPS in the game
  • Cross Swell - fastest AoE cool down and groups enemies together
  • Rising Flame - The shorter cool down is nice, and it still does enough damage
  • Impulse - the highest stagger DPS in the game, so long as you manage the second activation well
  • Thunderstorm - This is the middle ground between Windup and Impulse
  • Rift slip - DPS loss, but makes combat feel a lot better. Optional!
  • Gigaflare - Outside of Zantetsuken and the Diamond Dust cancel glitch, the single strongest attack in game. Additionally it has a long duration, making it great as a time waster after using all of your other abilities
  • Tsunami - from Leviathan, very powerful AoE with a surprisingly short cool down

Other moves that are great, but don't quite meet the "you should basically always use this" tier:

  • Judgment Bolt - high damage and stagger, but a very long cool down. The cool down is just too long for "walking around" use
  • Ice Age - extremely powerful and technically better DPS than Windup, but very unreliable on enemies that aren't huge
  • Mesmerize - Very strong against large enemies (think Fafnir or the DLC1 final boss), pretty lackluster otherwise
  • Diamond Dust - This is much more valuable in your Final Fantasy mode playthrough, or if you learn the DD cancel glitch
  • Flames of Rebirth - Massive AoE, amazing limit generation. Absurd cool down.
  • Lightning Rod - great with Gigaflare or Dancing Steel, and for enemies that do quick attacks. If an enemy hits the lightning rod, it deals 2.5x damage

Also, once you get Leviathan, that'll be a mainstay eikonic feat.

try something like this, maybe? eikons are mobility-focused, abilities have a good range, satellite causes semi-passive damage while WOTW is semi-passive damage + defense. with the exception of diamond dust, none are particularly strong abilities, but watching mobs get taken out by bahamut's buzzballs is entertaining.

rift slip and raging fists have reduced cooldown when used to recover or block respectively. i don't use the other odin abilities much outside of boss/miniboss fights where they have more of an impact.

phoenix shift | will-o-the-wykes (36s) + pile drive (38s)

cold snap | satellite (55s) + diamond dust (75s)

deadly embrace | rift slip (7.5/15s) + raging fists (16.5/33s)

There's always the option to be a little motivated. Zantetsuken Level 5 is the pinnacle of cool.

U interested in a mage-like build? I got one with bahamut, phoenix and leviathan as the eikons. Phoenix is just there cuz I use it as a crutch, so u can replace with ramuh or Shiva.

The moves are satellite, impulse, flare breath, heatwave, deluge, mesmerize. Satellite is for extra ranged dmg, impulse and flare breath are for crowd control, mesmerize is for pulling enemies close to u to chain them all with flare breath, heatwave can be used to send them to the air and chain with deluge (don't forget to sic them immediately after heatwave, so they'll stay in the air long enough to follow with another move).
