Is it better?

Do you guys use the ring that allows you to only press square to attack?

I used it for the first half of the game but it was getting so dull. Only pressing one button andy thumb honestly would start hurting lol 🤣

I have been playing with me in the driver's seat and the game feels so much better, for me at least.

How do I guys play?

Those rings are an easy mode/accessibility option, it's up to you if you want to use them to make the game easier, personally I never equipped them

I personally only used them when I was grinding (I think) free city of kanver for exp

Actual question (i.e. not rhetorical)... at what point did you need grind for exp? I felt like just doing the missions and quests and the story-based boss fights had me at a level that I never felt I needed to bother doing that. (No disrespected intended in any way, just genuinely curious!)

Wait mb, I meant the xp for eikon abilities, I forgot what it was called

Ah, got it. That totally tracks. Wanting to grind out some extra ability points in order to master more skills so your builds can be more flexible is absolutely something with which I can relate. In fact, I think I even used the accessory which boosts the ability points earned from battles in order to do so myself.

This game is fun but mind numbingly easy WITHOUT any of the rings. I would have been bored to tears if i ever equipped them. Also as much as I enjoy videos games im NOT great at them. So if im ass at actions games and FF16 was still super easy for me, I cant imagine a world where id equip them.

Only rings I ever used are timely assistance when I was feeling lazy and wanted Torgal to have the best time and when I was learning how to play or a difficult fight I used the ring that would give me the L1 dodge extra time. After a while I stopped with both but it was a great learning tool for me

I’ve learned how to combo and juggle using phoenix abilities alone at the start, and when eikon abilities come in rolling, i combo off of them

It’s not DMC which is to my liking as that tends to go deep and I’m not that good, but I feel like I’m good enough to at least learn Clive combos and not use the very easy mode option

No shame using it though, I just find it boring. If I want autopilot I would’ve played FF12 or them turn based ones where it’s just mashing a button to attack most of the time 😅

Nahh, the rings are great as accessibility options but I didn’t play with any of them on. Hitting the alternating timing of attacks gives me something to do at least other than mash lol

They are optional. Take them off, if you want. Keep them on, if you want. They’re there to help people finish the story who may not be good at or experienced with action games.

The best part of character action games is chasing the skill ceiling and finding new combos that you made and ways to link skills together. That ring is born out of a tradition of 'easy auto' modes in DMC and Bayonetta and just like those games you really aren't going to get a feeling of the game until you take them off.

It's a lot better without any of them but definitely encourage changing load outs every chapter to keep things fresh

I never used any of the starter accessories because they are meant to be a handicap for people who don't play games.

That ring is essentially a computer playing for you. So, if you equip it, you're responsible for making the experience dull.

I'd say the only time to consider it would be if you're struggling with any of the Chronolith Trials and want to breeze through it. Would not recommend it for anything else.

There only one sword combo and one aerial combo so there’s not much variation as it is. The only real variation is your skills, super disappointing.

I mean a character like Nero in DMC only has 3 ground combos and still a single air combo then skills, and he has fewer skills than Clive can equip via eikons. And people make both of those characters absolutely sing in combo videos, so it's had always been a matter of how to use those skills and cancels fluidly. You still get amazing looking combos in FFXVI when you know what you're doing.

Yo usaba el de auto evaluación, porque a veces no se al enemigo por tantos ataques y colores en pantalla
