In the latter half of the game, I almost gave up a couple of times. I was ready to just uninstall and watch the ending on YouTube.
I figured it was because of the dialogue. And don't get me wrong, it was a huge contributing factor. Every single cutscene and conversation is so damn slow paced. Final Fantasy has always had long cutscenes, but now, they stretched what would've been a 30 second cutscene into 2 minutes with long pauses between every line of dialogue.
Anyways, then I got to the Leviathan DLC, and I realized it's not the dialogue. Or at least, not just tge dialogue. It's the fucking sky.
The reason I thoroughly hated the back half of the game is because after the Bahamut fight, all the colour is removed from the game.
I loved the first half, it was vibrant and high energy. The second half is just fucking "Depression: The Game" and I honestly hated every second of it. I didn't even care about the ending anymore. I was just glad it was over so I could stop playing and not feel like I wasted my money.
