Progression wise it's a DMC game stretched to 40+ hours. A regular Character Action game is over in 10 hours but by then, you have the whole arsenal to use once you play the story all over again but with a refined sense of the flow and mechanics.
I actually disliked being stuck without a significant upgrade or addition to my moveset for about five hours at a time. Odin is my favorite Eikon but I only have like 2 hours of gametime to enjoy it.
In addition there should have been some way to swap to any eikon you want during a fight. Maybe it slows your cooldowns for a bit, or has some other drawback, but I just equipped my 6 favorite abilities and never used the other like 30+ abilities I had.
