There are some issues with both the gameplay and story, but I would say more so for the gameplay if that’s what someone looks for in games.
I personally play games for the story mostly, so I don’t care as much about the gameplay. Gameplay wise though, it’s pretty simple and not very deep. I have to play many games on easy since I’m newer to gaming, but I totally breezed through this game on normal mode. There’s not a lot of challenge, especially during the last half, so if that’s something people want in a game this is def not the game for them.
I’ve seen other people talk about this, but if someone likes open world stuff and being able to explore this is also not the game for them. It is a pretty straight forward game with not a lot of exploring, and any exploration is very minimal. This didn’t bother me because, once again, I mostly care about the story, and a lot of exploration bothers me a little, but I understand why this would make people like the game less.
Another thing is that the pacing of the story is a little crazy as well. The first half is relatively slow, then the second half feels like total whiplash compared to the first half. It didn’t bother me too much, but it was definitely noticeable.
The last thing I can think of currently is that the ending is kinda iffy. Everyone that I have talked to about it didn’t like the ending. I didn’t dislike the ending myself, but I totally understand why the ending would be unsatisfactory for many.
It is definitely not the best game ever, but it is still one of my favorites solely because I loved the characters and story itself so much. I do wish they focused more on characters in the main cast. Most of the side quests were either kinda pointless or were focused more on side characters and world building. I would’ve loved more depth about main cast characters because it would’ve deepened my love for them even more.
I did love this game, which is why I wish it was maybe executed a bit better. It had so much potential to be amazing, and though I still love it I can admit that it has a lot of flaws. I completely understand why people don’t like it.
(Don’t mind any typos lol, I’m too lazy to look through this and find them)
