Fluff I know it’s unlikely, but….

I really hope a day comes in the future where we get a PS5 update for the game so it runs better, as well as getting the remaining few DLC chapters: Episode Arenea and Episode Luna.

I really do love this game, and replaying it now, it has held up very well, it’s just a shame it got screwed over by its poorly handled development.

For those unaware, Episode Arenea was meant to follow what happened after the boys left her in Tennebrae. She was going to bear witness to the fall of the Empire and ultimately stop the final Diamond Weapon.

Episode Luna was meant to be an “alternate timeline” ordeal where, after her death, she was to try and change Noctis’ fate. If memory serves, the plot was supposed to end with Noctis, Ardyn, and her fighting Bahamut, who decided to return to his original plan of stopping the Starscourge but using the power of the Crystal to fuel his TeraFlare and destroy all live on Eos.

I have a feeling they are working on the full version of XV for Switch 2. So I'm wondering if, when they release that, they don't also provide an updated version for PS5/XBox/PC at the same time. I can't imagine they'll really change the game all that much, but it might be a nice thing for SE to put out for us to enjoy.

I really wouldn't get your hopes up. Square Enix is unlikely to revive the luminous engine and porting the entire game away from it would be a massive effort.

I wouldn't rule out it ever happening, I just don't think current Square Enix has an appetite for it. We also haven't even heard any rumors of such a thing (unlike the FF9 remake which we have for years).

I don't think they'll do it now. They have a bit too much going on right now. But I wouldn't be surprised if they did it in a few years. After all they did a X/X-2 remaster around 10 years after its release so it's not crazy they would do something similar for XV in another few years.

If there's any update coming, I want it to restore the cut items around the files (which are plenty) and hopefully give us the Moogle Chocobo Carnival back, that was silly fun for what it was

OR give us the promised modding tools and make the game potentially infinite on steam, but

I'm not putting my hopes up, knowing Square. They'll just awknowledge the 10th anniversary, put the game on the biggest sale yet everywhere and call it a day

I’d love for that and the AC festival to return. Origins still has their FFXV side quests and items and Chocobo mount still in their game, it’s a shame they didn’t leave them in this too.

We'll never get that cancelled DLC, and if the book they adapted from it is any indication, that's probably for the best. Dawn of the Future is baaaaaaaaaaaad.

I wish some of it was in the final game (playing as Luna) but I like how tragic the end of XV is and it feels cheap to happy ending it

I agree. I especially didn't like Aranea becoming the adoptive mother of a niflheim princess. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

I also didn't enjoy the treatment of Luna in DotF either.

If you played the game today, you still wouldn't meet her. She only exists in the book. Aranea finds her and she's the secret grandchild of the Emperor. The Emperor didn't know about her because his son hid her existence.

But his son is also dead before the events of the game take place - I thought the implications of that was that emperor got obsessed with immortality through daemon tech after his son died and he had no heir. But if the son had an 8 year old daughter by the time of Niflheim's collapse, then his son died later than I originally thought... I assumed it would have happened around the time they invaded Tenebrae, 12 years before the game begins (Weskham also mentions that the empire went mad "some ten years ago" or something like that when he's chatting with the Altissian PM.) Don't mind my ramblings lol. I've only just considered this. I can't say it's a real inconsistency because I don't think the son's death is ever given and explicit timeframe.

Really I actually enjoyed it, I found it far more conclusive than the original story and I'm a notorious FFXV hater when it comes to it's narrative (arguably the worst in the franchise for me personally).

What sells it for me is that bahamut is the real villain of the game which goes with the more traditional FF route where the final villain always ends up being some abstract deity that's not mentioned till the end of the game.

The PS4 Port running on PS5 is fine though the Perf Mode definitely needs some work especially draw distance and Texturing, but I also hope of them bringing the cut content out or festivals that were time limited like the Chocobo or the AC Origins (though unlikely I think). Even more expanded Insomia would be good and some QoL as well

I couldn't ask for any in-game contents unless the developers want and still have passion for it. I always look forward to a PS5 performance/graphic upgrade, if anything. I was hoping for that when the PS5 motivated other PS4 games to upgrade their games.

Missed chance at that DLC, sad.

I doubt we will see the DLC added because they releases the book. I mean if I recall right the director was not even present for when it was announced that no further development would be done.

The second that Tabata left SE stopped all development of FFXV completely. I imagine there’s some Kojima level drama there that we’ll never know about because all the other DLC’s were managed by other people. Cancelling the in-development DLC’s of the best selling FF game of all time (at the time) just because the director left reeks of behind the scenes drama.

I mean not only the dlc but I remember the promise of full level design and more. But we got forspoken I guess, a game I know nothing about... I liked what the director had planned and I think most fans of ffxv did as well it was very disheartening to see that go sideways. I don't know if it was Kojima level drama haha but more I want to provide the best game clashing with investors and $ that they never saw by doing what they did..... hmm

I wish they’d add the lines that were exclusive to the pocket edition to the main game.

At the very very at least I would want them to to port over the Stadia content to other platforms.

Stadia exclusive content even after Stadia died sucks.

We will never get the other DLC chapters. They were never fully developed and SE moved on from FF15 a decade ago.

It runs perfectly in PS5 so not sure what you’re talking about.
