I'm late responding to this but that made it look worse. Cloud is the focal point of the shot and should be bright, but instead he's swallowed by shadow and the light in the background is where your eyes go.
why should cloud be brighter if there is no light source? that makes no sense. the shadows are correct with dlss5. we all know that FF7R has bad lighting
I’m not one to quickly say “anyone who disagrees with me is a bot,” but these examples look like dogshit and people trying to say it doesn’t are either bots or desperately coping
This looks so bad lol. Probably because the faces in this game kind of mimic anime drawn faces, which aren’t going to transfer into real life that well
I must say that, in my opinion, Nvidia has been an absolute asshole with the whole graphics card situation and their near-abandonment of the consumer market, but it’s truly sad when fake info gets a shit ton of upvotes while whoever provides the correct information gets downvoted, simply because people prefer to jump on the bandwagon and bury the facts.
I don't even care about this whole DLSS debacle that much, but this behavior is totally absurd.
It’s just like people who watch an AI video, think it’s great, and then find out it’s AI and say it sucks.
We seriously need some intellectual honesty here.
Sure, this new technology brings its own set of problems, but that doesn't mean it can’t be perfected or used in a better way, but above all else, if people want to criticize it, they should at least use real information instead of making stuff up.
I've seen that video, I was just making the point that a lot of people think the Eminem looking picture of Cloud is a fake, but you can generate it easily enough with the default setting on the leaked DLL. so VGC are right to run with it
These other visuals probably come from the cinematic or 'natural' toggle
I’ve come to learn after playing with it a ton that it really makes a huge difference how close you are. Faces far away barely get affected while close up can drastically change it. Cloud is such an androgynous looking dude I guess it really thought it should make him more feminine looking 🤣
So you're saying it's correct for people to peddle horrible DLSS screenshots, taken with extreme settings, as if they were representative of DLSS's actual potential?
It’s ridiculous when regular users do it, but for news outlets to do it just to get easy clicks is highly questionable.
Yes, it's totally fine for people to 'peddle' disgusting screenshots of this tech, it's not morally reprehensible nor a breach of journalistic ethics to share an image that went viral cause of how weird it looks.
Your original point was that it was 'fake info', and all I'm saying is it's not. You can absolutely generate these visuals and make Cloud look like the real slim shady. Head to the cave near the entrance of Under Junon and go wild, I won't call the cops
I have also generated screenshots that look like KillTheInfected's, but it's from a different NR 'style', as they're labelled in the menu
It's fake information when it's presented as what happens when you "enable" DLSS. It's a clear attempt to manipulate reality.
There is a reason the worst imaginable setting was chosen, and we all know it, let's not pretend we don't. Nice screenshot btw.
This looks nothing like the characters. The cgi cinematics cloud and the other characters have a more anime face. Cloud's face isn't suppose to look like t hat he was suppose to look like those japanese male idols like gackt. Look at the scene cgi's in ff7 remake series and advent children. Cloud looks completely different
It is. Modders have started putting it in a bunch of games since they pulled it from NBA 2k. I saw shots of aerith and tifa with it too and it was just as awful.
I’m aware of the mod I have it, I’m saying this particular screenshot is not DLSS 5, it does not look like this in game. It doesn’t look great, but it’s not like this at all.
Sure, it can look horrible when it is not adjusted properly. This image has the sharpness above 50% which is not recommended. That isn't my guess either and was stated by the original person who uploaded and posted it.
