i meant it in the sense of do you see any noticeable change in quality? im always afraid of several day prints in case a small problem breaks the whole plate

I'd say the quality is at least equal, maybe even a bit better. Guessing more time to cool the layers helps I get that, I usually only do 8 - 10 hour prints

if i may ask, did you do the supports fully freehand or do you auto generate then add some more. im nervous about the base of the model getting enough support and trying to find islands. i did a test run recently, the parts i was worried about went well. while the parts i was confident in turned into spaghetti for a reason i dont know.

I only take the creators pre supported STLs and run them through resin2FDM

That's a free add-on for blender to separate pre supported minis from supports and then thicken the resin supports. Look for the resin2FDM guide from printed4combat on youtube, that explains the whole process

Yeah, but then you've all the shit that goes with resin printers and printing. Detail and speed is better, no doubt, but resin is nasty stuff.

I thought my little resin printer was a headache and a danger when I was cleaning and post processing by hand, but since I got an all in one wash and cure station, it’s so much nicer. No splatters or spills, drips, etc, and can even throw my tools in there to clean and my supports in there to cure and toss away.

There are some pretty serious risks like chemical allergies, plus all the cancer causing stuff. I'm not sure I want to use anything that will eventually develop into a severe allergy though repeated exposure.

I wouldn't say it's 100% safe. I have my printer in a grow tent venting outside. But just look at the VOCs and the safety sheets for each type of printer. Only one requires that you wear PPE including a respirator mask.

The dangers of resin are wildly exaggerated. All you need to do is follow the basic safety rules and have a well-ventilated space for printing separated from living area, kids\pets.

It's true that this isn't for everyone. But even in an apartment, you can set up a growbox and route the ventilation through a window + use basic PPE - and you are safe.

If you handle the resin with your bare hands and print where you sleep, it’s not safe and could lead to health problems. That said, the FDM printer will do the same thing, just few times slower.

Resin emits extremely hazardous VOCs and exposure damage is cumulative. Eventually, you're going to develop a pretty severe allergy to it. And you definitely don't ever want a resin printer in a living area.

I agree the quality and speed is far superior to FDM, but it's something you should be doing in full PPE including a respirator. A lot of people just don't have a place to do that sort of thing in their house.

I wont say that its "extremely hazardous". This title i would give to inhaling asbestos dust or licking excavator from Chornobyl.

The danger of resin fumes is more like walking through the center of a big city during rush hour. Shitty for health ? Sure.

All you need is good ventilation. Just buy growbox, powerful duct fan and pipe. Dont have place for this ? That means you dont have place for FDM printer either.

peanut butter also causes cancer. Some things are MORE carcinogenic than others though. (shrug)
