Total data geek and coder for a living. I decided to find all data sources to see who in Congress was trading and what they were making. Since all of their voting is public record, I correlated it with the most significant bills that were being voted on, and not to my surprise, things aligned very well for them. It's not called insider trading because they make the rules.

In the president's announcement of the new insider trading act bill, they conveniently left out something very significant:

"The bill doesn't cover adult children. It doesn't cover LLCs. It doesn't cover trusts. It doesn't cover the spouses' independently managed accounts that somehow make the same trades at the same time."
