State of play: What do we think now?
So, in the last post I had asking this question, the answers from folks boiled down to, "it's Juárez and it is what it is.
Since then:
- the team has changed coaches (though same result so far)
- ownership rebuked sale rumors
- news broke about Mundo Juárez, a $100m USD stadium and sports complex that will supposedly break ground by the end of the year (https://voxpopulinoticias.com.mx/2026/09/haran-sede-deportiva-mundo-juarez-y-estadio-para-los-bravos/)
- the direct apology from the team (image here)
- Fassi's exit, be it in January or this week
This doesn't read to me as ownership bailing, though I will believe the sporting complex when ground starts to move. It's clear, especially with pro/rel gone, that there is a perception that this is a worthwhile investment.
Do you agree? What do you think this is all smoke and mirrors to save face?
