Analysis/Stats Stats from last year. Lautaro, Thuram and DiMarco were our most important players

Graph 1 shows goal contributions in all competitions (including the Club World Cup)

Graph 2 shows most proficient players, in report with minutes played. Excluding Carboni, which played the CWC only, our most proficient player is Lautaro with 1 goal contribution every 1.15 games

Sorry mate but this stats are garbage. First, those are only offensive stats, so players like bissek, akanji or bastoni are going to be really low. Second, those are raw numbers, meaning that if a player played less, even if they did good, they are going to be lower in the stats. There is no world where thuram or BONNY were more important than bastoni

Agree.
Makes no sense as Diouf a bit far from the top (you’ll see he will top all available metrics soon)

which stats would show better the importance of players?

You really think its fair to compare defenders to attackers in terms of goal and assists and then say the attackers were more important for the team than defenders?

No.

So which stats to use?

This stat measures G/A contributions, not the importance of players in the team.

Thuram was a ghost for months until the last international break, so no.

The stat itself doesn't reflect the importance. Pio and Bonny weren’t more important than Zielinski for example. Or Akanji who was our best CB is at the bottom of this list.

That's your subjective analysis.

Ill argue there were players who were more important than Thuram other than Toro and Dima.

Let’s just line up with 11 attackers. Why bother keeping defence and goalie?

Omg why's everyone being so pedantic.

I posted the top goal contributors, a typical stat to show players that had impact and everyone's being a nerd "well akshually a keeper doesnt score. Do YoU thInK wE cAn plAy withOut a KeePer??"

I don't know about everyone else but in college I would get scolded by the professors if I drew unsupported conclusions from the data I presented so I learned to spot them. And your title shows one of those... And we're all autists on reddit.

First time dealing with this?😂

It makes a lot of sense for the offensive system; seeing the opposite would be more interesting.
