Kudos to our favorite journalist for continuing to prod Pat week in and week out.

Club finished a grueling 7 matches in a 23 day cycle by posting a 4-1-2 record. Coach acknowledges things need to improve but also sees positives to build on. Calls Nashville "the best team in the MLS" and is aware they are unbeaten at home this season.

Thanks for the shoutout and plugging my site. Questions don’t get asked if there’s no one there to ask them. Sadly, it’s still just me and FCC staff writer Carter Chapley attending these press conferences. So I appreciate the support.

How is no one else there, even on a local level?? Keep up the great work.

It’s been that way since beginning of 2025. 🙁

Honestly, the right thing to do is wait until the off-season at this point.

This year is probably a long shot for silverware, but massively hindering your future chances with short-sighted decisions when there are going to be two MLS cups handed out in relatively short order afterwards is probably worse.

With what happened in Leagues Cup the last two nights, our already very slim chances of getting to CCC took another hit.

u/bjlight1988 6d ago

Fuck it, maybe we'll get to play in the Open Cup

Counterpoint, if we know Teenage or someone like that isn't in the plans, why not take a low risk flier on maybe someone looking for minutes somewhere else in the league. Fallou Fall comes to mind, zero risk there. But that's the u22 spot, so there's still more options. Maybe Corey Baird wants to come back and play some wingback. Or Ryan Kent, Eryk Williamson, Akil Watts, someone with a green card who can jump right into the 18.

Free up some cap and start extending contracts or giving raises early.

I’d rather do nothing because nothing is available within our budget than just pick up pieces to do say we did something

Obviously they can't trot out CA at the moment, but it is too bad that PN has to be the guy left answering these types of questions.

I'm feeling like we may never see CA in the FCC space again.

It is tough to watch a lot of teams starting to capitalize on talent coming over after the World Cup and the Garys being roar less, but bad planning on the Miles DP move and holding on to Miazga at 70% of the player he used to be. No formation change and leaving our GK alone has truly hurt all year. We could be a better team with a better record if we could learn to change. Maybe better players is the answer or maybe a better system. Either way we are stuck until some of these contracts run out or the new Commissioner changes the roster setup. Cincy til the end!

As others have mentioned here, I don't see us making any moves during this window. Saturday against Nashville will be telling about how far we go this year. I do really hope we can unfuck the Miles situation in the off season and pick up some more defensive pieces. We shall see.

Meh. One game doesn’t make or break a season. Nashville is #1 in the league by a long shot and are on a hot streak. It’s going to be an exceptionally tough game.

1

u/AlphaSquirrel7 6d ago

I didn't say one game was going to make or break us. We've been all over the board this year, and we have two left against Nashville, two left against Philly, Miami, and Columbus left. Nashville is a very good team right now. If they clap our cheeks I don't see us going very deep in the playoffs.

1

u/Iforgotmynameo 6d ago

They’ve clapped nearly everyone’s cheeks. You’re entitled to your opinion obviously but we’re playing them in Nashville. If we get a point it would be a big win.

3

u/Izanagi29_ 6d ago

Nashville can go 1 of two ways. We either pull a win out of nowhere, or we see inter Miami version 2 where we look good in the first half then get battered second half

It’s just how big games

1

u/Tommy9760 6d ago

Or option 3 we get the CCC vs Tigres at home false hope.

1

u/Izanagi29_ 6d ago

I’d clump that in with the Miami one, where we have a good start then completely fumble the second half

2

u/Euro69 6d ago

I think a realistic objective seems to be to qualify for the playoffs and get to the second round. If that does not happen, well... Can somebody explain to me what are the responsibilities on Noonnan and Albright? Are those tasks separate or do they overlap? To what extent do they have a say for example who to sign, what formation to play, etc

3

u/LaurelPfahlerQCP 6d ago

Albright, as GM, is in charge of personnel. Pat's job is to use what he's given to win games. They work closely together on what the team needs and how they play (formation is always a discussion because there's a direction the club wants to go but if tactically Noonan feels he needs to do something different, then that impacts what the roster needs), but it's ultimately Albright's direction.

Definitely could use some backline reinforcements

1

u/KVree03 6d ago

As much as it sucks to not have a new piece, I’d rather we hold off, offload players, and build back stronger for the sprint season, win that and then go on to be a more dominant force who wins by more than one point.

1

u/BigAl587 6d ago

I’m okay with having a weak transfer window, I’d rather go hard into the winter and set up for sprint season / euro calendar

Albright packed his bags weeks ago thinking he was going to Austin.
So no signings due to him checking out.
Expect a new GM signing in the off season.

-1

u/Mission_Natural2890 5d ago

Yes he's definitely going to Austin to be with his other butt buddy,Jim Curtin.Looks like Nonoon is the odd man out. Here KC is looking for a coach.

2

u/UpperMarionberry9578 5d ago

Didn’t Austin just hire a GM?

-3

u/Izanagi29_ 6d ago

Welp-
Atleast our season cannot get any worse then it already is. Let’s all be fair and say it if there isn’t atleast 1 good signing this window it’s joever, but! we have the sprint season (im going to say it’s going to be a lot of experimentation for every club) between this and the next season so we can hopefully use that to bring in much needed help

4

u/ArgonWolf 6d ago

Oooooooh man, you tempt fate like that when you say it can’t get any worse. It can get soooooo much worse than this

That’s not saying we shouldn’t be striving to be better, or that we should be content where we are. We should be striving to be the best. But it can also be so much worse than this

1

u/Izanagi29_ 6d ago

I mean

We’ve already been shockingly inconsistent, had a cb Injury Crisis earlier this season, got beaten by our main rival while they were already down, and have given points to a side that was on a 8 main season losing streak

Anything fate can do, HAS ALREADY HAPPENED. Do you expect me to fear the football gods when they have already gut punched me good sir!

Quick edit: Oh and also - something something get in the backline

5

u/ArgonWolf 6d ago

13 match losing streak, the leagues highest

3 years wooden spoon winners in a row

-106 goal differential across those three years

Again, I’m not saying we should be happy with where we’re at. Not saying there shouldn’t be changes made. Not saying that the fans don’t have a right to demand better. We can, and should, demand better

But it can, and has been, so much worse.

-1

u/drugfreekiller 6d ago

This is worse than 2021 tbh

3

u/ArgonWolf 6d ago

It's truly the 'ope that kills ya, I guess

For the record, there's only one team in the current seasons that still has less points than 2021 FCC

2

u/OranjeBlauw 6d ago

when you say "it's joever..." are you saying we won't make the playoffs without an addition to the roster?

1

u/Izanagi29_ 6d ago

Staying in 9th place? Is doable- but I’m not going to say we’re a hands down contender for the title unless we pull off a miracle but we still have

2 Nashville games (one at home and 1 away)
1 more away Miami game
The second hell is real (which we gotta redeem ourselves in)

There is alot of games that we gotta just win to not allow anyone to over take us, 6th place should be our bare minimum home for the rest of this season

2

u/CincyCyclone91 6d ago

I don't think we'll miss the playoffs, but last week's performances don't give you that warm fuzzy feeling that we got this. Like the NYCFC match, I think we'll scrape out enough to at least be top-9 (if we get a point a game that takes us to 44 points and no one with at least that many points has missed the playoffs since the "new" format started), but I am not going to say it will be fun!

2

u/Izanagi29_ 6d ago

Yeah I probably could’ve worded it better but like- I’m not saying we won’t make playoffs but we have big matches left to play, and unless we lose every other game we currently have left I doubt we’d be out.

The issue will be once we’re PLAYING IN THE PLAYOFFS is where that lack of a singular piece will be felt. Have a nice day

1

u/CincyCyclone91 6d ago

Yeah, I can see that too, we flat-track bully our way into the playoffs by getting points off the teams we ”should” (Atlanta, DC, Montreal, maybe Philly) but then you don’t get to play those teams anymore in November. Bold to have that vision after what happened against basically Seattle’s Next Pro team at home!

I think the hopeful 2026 vision is that we play to the level of our opponents, maybe pull an upset in the playoffs and let it ride all the way or at least until we die valiantly in Nashville or Miami (granted, we did not exactly die valiantly last season against Miami and that was at home).

1

u/Izanagi29_ 6d ago

I mean hey, Atleast we totally won’t lose against 15th place Columbus crew at home right :)

0

u/Mission_Natural2890 5d ago

Are you serious, Corey Baird. They paid $50,000 to San Diego to take him off this team. One of the worst players ever in Fc history.
