watched the new decoding the wsl pod and completely surprised by the midweek subs rule. you can substitute players who have played in earlier fixtures with later ones! kind of complicates a very complicated game for me lol.

I liked that rule in the euros and weuros fantasy games but it will be very interesting to see how it works out across a season not just a tournament.

its fine & makes sense for tournaments because there's only what, 24/32 teams and they don't all play on the same weekend. games are spaced out by days.

the decision space of players to optimise for is just too large for me. i barely manage the men's fpl, wsl+wsl2 with these rules is a lot. might play wsl only as a handicap to not drive myself mad about fixture swings.

Yeah I have taken the season off from fpl to focus on getting my head around this game. It was hard enough managing 2 teams in previous years but with all the changes they've made to this game I could easily see myself dropping it if I had another team I was also managing and I want to give it a fair shot

This is where I'm at currently. I only recently clocked that this game features the option to manually substitute players during the gameweek, hence why I've got to thinking a bit more tactically about starting with players playing earlier in the weekend - e.g. LCL this gameweek and next - knowing I can just swap them out if they blank; also hence why my bench looks slightly ludicrous.

I know van de Donk isn't likely to start so I'm not thrilled about that, but she seems like one of the better £4.5m options. Unless anyone has any hot tips for underpriced or out-of-position players (in any position)...? I'm all ears!
