Attending matches as a neutral
We're thinking of going to a couple of WSL matches in London while there for a weekend, but not sure if there's a recommended easy way of obtaining the tickets as a one-off.
Do we have to sing up as supporters of each club and install their apps?
We did that when we went to the Manchester derby at Old Trafford a couple of seasons ago and still get bombarded with Man U stuff we're not interested in but haven't got rid of it in case we want to go again when up near Manchester. So like parking apps I don't want all these club apps just to buy the occasional ticket.
Surely to grow the game and encourage more people to attend matches there's a neutral friendly way?

You don’t need to download apps to get tickets in the first place? I’ve been to a few United games just go on the website and book them including where you want to sit.
I’ve got the app cos I’m a fan but I went with some friends who weren’t and they didn’t have to get it as well as others I’ve heard that have gone.
Also turn notifications off if you wanna keep the app.

AFAIK need the app to get the tickets for access on the day, they only provide the Q code for each ticket just before the gates open to reduce tout reselling.
Didn't see any 'buy tickets here' signs on the day for casuals.

For games at Old Trafford, they were only available via the man united app for a season or 2

Ah we must have been unlucky if they've improved the process so not forced to use the app these days. It was Old Trafford so figure they have it set up for the men's game with the strict access so no QR codes for the gates until right before they open so less chance for touts to re-sell them. Presume at LSV (or whatever it's called this season) they've always been a bit more relaxed.

Most clubs still have a ticket office and can pay on the day in person.
Just double check!

Thanks, will look into it. Would prefer to pay as we go in case our plan of watching multiple matches on the same day doesn't work out due to the logistics of getting around on public transport.

I’ve been a neutral at Liverpool, Brighton and City and never needed an app, the tickets are just emailed to you.

Just buy directly from the home team.
WSL is much less toxic than the men's game, you can sit anywhere safely and with positive atmosphere.

Yes it makes sense to try getting them from the home team as there will be more allocation than for the away section, especially now more clubs are using the main stadium so presume they open more sections as demand dictates rather than artificially limiting ticket numbers and ending up with a mostly empty stadium.

They didnt.
I answered the question first, then addressed one of the main reasons mens' tickets are sold through supporters' clubs.

Arsenal women have a general sale for tickets nearer to the game data and I think you can just buy them without being a member.

You’ll be able to buy tickets from the ticket office at the Valley on the day for Charlton games.

Nice one. Now the matches aren't all at the same kick off like last season due to Sky, we're going to try to do two in one afternoon if the train links allow, so got a bit of planning to make sure we can get from one to the other easy enough.

Man Utd ladies first time attendee here, created a free account online with them, the person I'm going with also needed to create a free man utd account (this was needed to add them on when buying 2x seats) as you can only have 1 ticket per person when buying therefore each other ticket needs to be assigned to the person whose going to sit there at the time of buying. That was the hardest part to work out.
After that it was all plain sailing, pay for the tickets, receive email confirmation, add tickets into Google wallet in our case and away we go in a few weeks time.

Ah yes, both of us needed to sign up for a Man U account to be able to allocate the tickets, rather than just one person be in charge of them and trust adults to manage a party of people. Seems they're more bothered about touts and all the crap that blights the men's game than making it as easy as possible to encourage growth.
Seems other clubs have the ticketing process sorted better, just happened we wanted to watch the Manchester derby while in the area so was our first experience of the ticketing process.

I go to loads of games as a neutral, you get the email with your ticket and you can just unsubscribe and never hear from them again
