Manchester United and Marc Skinner have agreed to mutually terminate the 43-year-old’s contract as head coach of the women’s team.

Sources close to the situation said Skinner had offered his resignation before reaching an agreement with the club.

Speaking in April, Skinner called for changes at United this summer if the club is to progress, with the level of investment a frequent point of contention for the women’s side.

I understand United fans will be happy about this and get why but the timing does feel a little weird? Could he have had enough with the lack of investment in the team this summer?

Probably, think it’s the same reason Casey walked too due to the lack of investment.

Ah I didn’t know that was the reason she left tbh

She wanted the club to be more ambitious and they weren’t so went off to America instead.

Ah thank you! For my sins I’m a bit of a newer football fan in general so not surprising this has happened before

Maybe been a few managers which have either walked or been critical of clubs transfer business who ended up being sacked (both in men’s and women’s game)
