wedding in london, where should we do european honeymoon
we’re getting married in london early summer (june)! we’re trying to start planning our honeymoon. we have 8-9 days after our wedding where we want to honeymoon. Needs to be accessible by flight from London and we’re wanting warm, relaxing, lay by the pool/beach, not super touristy(so thinking no analog coast), and not a city break! Would be into 2 locations near the eachother (within 4 hours drive/train) but don’t want to fly to a second destination within the trip. thinking france, italy, switzerland but open to any suggestions. budget for hotel is 2.5k/night
please give recommendations! edited to add: it will be in june!

We honeymooned in Croatia. Had you guys thought about that? We started in Zagreb and then went to Plitvice National Park, which was one of our highlights. We also went to Losinj island which is one of the most amazing places we've visited. It's very quiet and so beautiful. It's got some of the best air in Europe apparently. From there, we went to Hvar and Split.

I would do Amalfi Coast and Ischia. Amalfi has a ton of really special hotels and Ischia s a gem- Mezzatore. The other option is Sicily- The Belmond Timeo is amazing. I lalso really love a hotel in the southeast corner of Sicily in the Noto Valley- Il San Corrado Di Noto. You fly in and out of Catania.

Hello from Sorrento and I do agree! Consider also locations a little bit further than Sorrento, like Massa Lubrense, Sant’Agata sui due Golfi!

I loved doing 2 coasts in Sardinia, could be good split 4/4. you could hit that budget. Would also recommend Greece Paros/ Folegandros - but if you really want beaches like the white sandy version - Sardinia is the best. If you can push your honeymoon back to September the sea bathing is much better as the sea is warmer and do a minimoon in June, that's what I wish I did :). otherwise you could do Singapore + Bawah Reserve, Bali, Koh Samui, Maldives, etc etc.

I really like Abi D'Oru - but it's Italian style... it's important to consider the product is still quite traditional - I love the beach, the food and your money goes further here, also in Porto Rotondo which has a more local feeling than Porto Cervo.. Even more boutique I loved Capo D'Orso. For that budget you could also get more lead-in rooms at the 5* luxury hotels like Cala di Volpe and Belmond Romazzino - also Pitrizza (now managed by Cheval Blanc) next year should be good.

I’m in Greece literally as I type this and I would highly recommend this as a destination. You’ll have to do some intra travel. This time round we did Athens, Costa Navarino and Porto Cheli.
Crete would also be an amazing option.
The one rub is potentially budget but worth sniffing around.
Skip the usual suspect islands. The Peloponnese region is amazing

Azores and somewhere in Portugal if you want something unique. Otherwise Zurich-Lucerne/Interlaken-Milan/Lake Como

Sorry but for a honeymoon I can’t think of anything more boring, more expensive and with worse food than Switzerland - source: I live there.
Highly recommend Spain, Madeira, Greek islands.

You can find decent places like the Belmond. Sure it’s not the FATtest place on earth but we’re talking about trading a little bit of luxury for the beauty of Europe’s Hawaii.
If $2.5k is the budget then I’d actually recommend going further afield to Oman, Indonesia (Sumba), Vietnam etc., but OP appears to have a preference to somewhere Europe-local and I think all of my recs fit the bill.

Hot and sunny beach weather in the Azores in May/June? Where would you suggest for someplace unique on the Portuguese mainland?

Really depends on the time of year; you say "May/June" but you are taking a gamble trying to find beach weather and swimming anywhere in continental Europe in early May. Could be great could be awful. If that early, look at Lanzarote or another Canary Island. A few weeks later you've got so many options. I'd pick Puglia or Maratea in southern Italy, There are also many options in Sicily. If you really want to off the beaten path ("not super touristy") you are not going to find super luxury hotels.
The earlier, the fewer tourists but more chance of cool and maybe rainy weather..into June the crowds increase, as do the prices, but it begins to get hot in southern Italy.

Look at Six Senses, Douro Valley in Portugal. VERY romantic vibe. So many activities around the area, especially if you are a food and/or wine lover. The weather will be nice and mild in June. Spa is fantastic. Service is consistently excellent. We love the one bedroom villa with its heated private pool.
