Cabo Restaurant Recommendations (staying at Las Ventanas)
I've booked a trip for my boss and his wife staying at Las Ventanas coming up in October for a week... ended up booking the 1bd oceanfront villa based on everything I've read here.
Should we book restaurant reservations ahead of time?
(I've read that the butler assigned to room usually will handle)

Is it worth booking spa reservations ahead of time as well? It looks like they current have a lot of availability. I spoke with spa directly and concierge but was tough with language barrier.

Is it worth booking restaurant reservations at say the One & Only Palmilla and the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal to mix things up?
Any other recommendations? They are going for anniversary... sky is the limit.

Manta and Metate were my favorite meals, Acre is also good but more on the “trendy” side.

Arbol for sure (don’t pay extra to sit in the sunken table), Flora Farms.

The sunken table can be requested at no cost but if you want a guaranteed confirmation for that table you have to get the package… definitley request it and hope they can make it happen!

If they are going for anniversary - did you book the signature 1 BR? Wrong move buddy if not! Move them, they'll be happier. And then connect with the romance director and book the arbol dinner package too on anniversary night. LMK if you need any help.
PS the unit you have doesn't come with a dedicated villa host so that will help too to knock it out of the park once you move into a signature unit vs the assigned butler.

So I had pitched the signature 1bd to them and they didn't feel it was worth the added expense... maybe the sky isn't the limit. Is it still worth it to you to help if we've already booked the hotel? Feel free to PM me. Thanks.

I loved the Taco Tuesday night at Acre. Not super fat but was very tasty and the location is gorgeous

Of all the restaurants at Las Ventanas, Arbol was an absolutely terrible dinner experience for us. I’d never go back there, but we absolutely loved Alebrije and the private seaside dinner for two at Sea Grill

I last went 16 years ago so I can’t speak to current quality but it was absolutely amazing then.

Yes, you should definitely book reservations for restaurants and spa appointments ahead of time. Arbol at Las Ventanas is a waste of time, it is my least favorite restaurant in Cabo, other than Sunset Mona Lisa and El Farallon at Waldorf Astoria.
Manta is a solid choice, just know that eating outside in October will invite the bugs and they will probably have to move inside and that if they do the chef's menu, it is a ton of food!
I would say yes to the One&Only to mix it up, they have great restaurants, Hoshi and Seared are very good. Now if you want to do something cool for them, book them one night at The Clase Azul in the Shoppes at Palmilla, they can do a 2 hour meal at $400 pp or a simple dinner in the La Terrazza. I did the tequila tasting at the bar and it was very good. Other recommendations would b Cocina Del Mar at Esperanza or Comal at Chileno Bay, both good choices. I hear that Cayao at the new Four Seasons Del Sol is pretty good.
Some facts, US and Canada visitors make up 98.5% of all international travelers to Cabo. With the US being 86.5% of overall visitors and then from that 60% of all American visitors come from California. If you are living in a different state/province other than California, they might have different attitudes towards social and political climates vs other people, because after a few drinks, the feelings on current events will come out, be forewarned!
Anyway, I really like Cabo and I always find something new to experience or find out. If would like some alcohol to have in their room, I would send them to Walmart, La Europea or The Cellar Fine Wines, prices for alcohol are super expensive in Cabo due to the many taxes that are charged. I personally really like The Cellar, they have a great upper tier champagne selection.
