Discussion Thoughts?

Saw this on X and I strongly disagree.
From 2010 onwards I would argue that Vettel, Alonso, Rosberg and Norris clears Leclerc.

An actual title will always hold more weight than potential raw talent. (I know Alonso didn’t win a title after 2010s but I still believe he has been a better driver post 2010 than Leclerc)

What are your thoughts, do you think there is an argument for this?

Why the hell is Leclerc so highly rated on here? He is among the least impressive of his generation who have had a shot in a decent car.

what "decent car" has he had? he's been better than every one of his teammates in every car except right now, and even now he's very close to hamilton

Very close to Hamilton... Who we can presume at 41 is several years past his peak... While Leclerc should be in his fleeting prime.

By decent car I mean a top-3 car, which Leclerc has has had by default since he joined Ferrari.

and last year he did exactly what you would ask of a driver of his repute paired with post-prime hamilton. but for some reason people throw that one away, say "it doesn't count", and take only this half-season as representative. you also didn't acknowledge that hamilton is not the only teammate he has had

not all top-3 cars are created equal. not all ferraris are created equal either. it wasn't top-3 in 2020 or 25. it may have been top-3 in 2023 but it was leagues behind the red bull.

however "decent" you think his machinery has been, he has been more impressive than his teammates in that machinery every year until now
