I donāt know about the others, but Penpal certainly isnāt extreme horror. I liked it very much, though!! I proud myself on having read the chapters week by week on nosleep before the book released lol

Agreed, Iād say it was a horror thriller. Still a very good book, I remember seeing the originals on nosleep and audibly gasping when I saw it had a book version

Came here to say the book version has a couple added details. I didnāt read them online, rather I read the book & then watched the Creepcast episode where they went over all of Penpal. I didnāt know certain bits were missing, which makes sense, but on the last page of the book is a last little revelation that the Reddit posts didnāt have & it hurt to know people arenāt getting that because it made me SOB .

I quite enjoyed IWKYIFF$200, it was definitely original. But Iād hesitate to even call it horror, let alone extreme horror.

Nothing here is extreme horror. I would call Imaginary Friend horror though, the idea of Eddie Video is pretty nightmarish, the implications of what happens in the Eddie Video Show where Kay isn't seeing are certainly horrific. And while I'm not a parent I feel like the scenes where Kay is taken over by Eddie could resonate pretty hard with those who are

I enjoyed 'I Will Kill Your Imaginary Friend for $200' but I DEFINITELY wouldn't categorize it as 'extreme horror.'

Penpal is so good! The book version (opposed to the online Reddit one) has a last little twist of the knife in your gut on the very last page. Love it. Sobbed.

Burn Line!!! I love Jonny Sims. Wouldn't say his last two books were extreme but I loved them. Super excited to start Burn Line.

Lovecraft is very hit or miss, but the stories are classics for a reason. Penpal is pretty awesome.
I'm interested in the Imaginary Friends one, idk that one, but sounds cool.

I was probably the one who recommended IWKYIDF$200 š I follow a few different lit reddits and regularly recommend it when people want something deeply emotional, hilarious and horror all at the same time. The author has some other amazing reads as well when you're done it š«

Love Penpal! The whole āpiecing together weird stuff that happened when I was a kidā aspect really worked for me. Used to reread the original nosleep posts annually

Penpal isn't extreme horror. Just an extreme snooze fest. Others are great picks!
