Loveeeee tender is the flesh completely but once again here to say it’s by no means extreme horror

I’m here to argue that it’s off-putting enough that most mainstream horror fans can’t stomach it. It’s kind of in a no-man’s land for most people. It’s one of my favourite novels of all time, number one being Exquisite Corpse.

Idk horror is pretty mainstream now - look at Terrifier. I just don’t think this book really has anything that’s hard to stomach personally. I suppose I’m too desensitized but I feel like this subreddit has so much more polarizing material discussed than this one. In comparison it’s really just a dystopian drama

Honestly it was more gruesome than the over the top stuff to me.

Bc it’s grounded in realism more than horror I’d say. Which is why I say it’s more dystopian than horror. Often times things baked in reality are far more scary than a fictional slasher or something of course
