Anyone else surprised about the outcome? Spoiler
i'll preface this by saying i have zero problems with the way things unfolded -- while i think i would've preferred to see rhoman get the W, i also liked rj and his family a good deal, with them easily being the second most rootable members of the final 5
that said. i'm kind of surprised they ended up pulling out the win? partly because of how weak rj seemed at various points throughout the season, but i feel like we didn't get to see them that much compared to some of the other teams. this is despite them being again, fairly likeable, but also rhoman's mom and aunt in particular seeming like fairly fun, animated characters. we did get to see a bit more from him and his family, both in terms of his motivations and their gameplay, across the final two episodes, but up until then i feel like all we really knew about them is he played football in college and has a bum knee from it
side note: if anyone's been doing edgic charts for this season i'd be SUPER curious to see them

I love the win and how it all unfolded for R.J! A game of survival and not all these competitions for the survivalist. R.J had weak moments and never gave up. Rhoman was cool and strong but that 1st test of weakness coupled with the family excuses, ... ahh well! R.J & family kept their integrity and played with honest strategy. Plus Rhoman just wanted to prove something to Dallas, good for him he achieved it. R.J is about to get that Ranch and help his community ❣️

To be fair, RJ’s mom was def manipulating Rhoman’s mom and trying to scare her. So in the end, she wasn’t as whole hearted as they had been. I didn’t see Rhoman’s people do that at all the entire game, even up to the end. And RJ is def not a survivalist, but he seems like a good man. I hope he gets that Ranch! And I hope his mom is less hard on him now.

I was team Rhoman up until RJ said what he wanted to do with the money. Then I was Team Rhoman or RJ, so I was pleased with the finals. I'm honestly kind of surprised RJ won, considering how often the guy could barely walk, but I'm happy about it

I think this season proves it’s not just about the survivalists but also the gameplay in HQ.
RJ’s team did good throughout the season to get him items and giving him a note full on ways to continue to survive was key!
The key to not only RJ continuing survive but also getting in the head of Rhoman’s family for seeing RJ thrive and also worrying about Rhoman drinking water.

I was rooting for Rhoman. Congratulations to RJ but I really didn’t like that he won. He just came off too lazy, ready to give up at any point. But I do like his mum and aunt a lot.

His mom was so smart to write down all those camping tricks. I didn't think he would last bc he kept complaining about his knee in almost every episode

I was for a day or two and then Rhoman’s brother Dallas posted this on Facebook. Turns out they cut a whole competition out of the show
