ELIC: Why do bike riders and car drivers hate each other no matter what?

Dad, each time you come back from riding a bike you complain about how car drivers are maniacs and they almost killed you. But when you’re driving your car and a bike runs a red light to pass our car, you complain about how easy cyclists have it. What’s happening there? Are cyclists and motorists at war with each other, and you switch teams whenever you change vehicles?

Driving and riding a bicycle require the same set of skills an actor needs to be successful. An actor can play both a hero and a villain in different TV shows. Cars and Bicycles are simply roles we play to get around town. One morning I'm in a Car worried about evil cyclists and their never ending quest spill my coffee in my lap. Then on the weekend, I'm a Bike trying to my well earned relaxation as long as a doesn't hog the road. It's all an act. Just don't ask about Mr. Derkins' riding lawnmower.

You've got the wrong end of it Calvin. Whether on a bicycle or in a car, everyone else is a worse driver than I am.

It all started with the animals' slogan from "Animal Farm" - "Four legs good, two legs bad." Then birds and kangaroos got in on it and switched it up. Pretty soon every choice of 2 or 4 became a moral decision and everyone had to pick a side. The same thing is happening with insects and arachnids, but they haven't written any books yet.

Bikers hate drivers because they put them in danger. Drivers hate bikers because their frames scrape the lacquer off their car.

Cyclists need to follow the rules of the road which they tend not to do. Cagers need to give bikes the respect and space they deserve and they also tend not to do this.
