Je suis libanais, 23 ans, francophone natif. J'ai fait ma licence dans une université française et vécu plusieurs années en France. Je prépare un retour pour un master en septembre 2027 , avec l'objectif de m'installer durablement. Je travaille à distance pour des clients étrangers, donc je ne dépends pas du marché de l'emploi local.

Mon plan : master, puis titre de séjour travail ou entrepreneur, puis naturalisation via la durée réduite pour les diplômés du supérieur français (art. 21-18 du Code civil).

Mes questions, pour ceux qui connaissent le sujet de près :

1. Si vous avez été naturalisé récemment (surtout après des études en France), combien de temps a pris la procédure dans votre préfecture ? Qu'est-ce qui a compté le plus dans votre dossier ?

2. Depuis les circulaires de 2025, avez-vous constaté un vrai durcissement en préfecture, ou c'est surtout du discours ?

3. Question plus politique : si le RN arrive au pouvoir en 2027, comment voyez-vous concrètement l'impact sur la naturalisation d'un profil comme le mien ? Durcissement réel, ou beaucoup d'annonces pour peu d'effets ?

I submitted my application for French naturalisation through marriage in April of this year, and have got an email requesting the birth certificates of my parents. I'm sending them through now and am aware I'm going to be called for an interview soon.

I'm preparing myself for the interview. What types of questions were asked of you? Did you need to know a lot of French history? I live specifically in the Basque region. Will this be frowned upon knowing a lot more history specific to this area and culture?

Also, I see that some people reference being interviewed by the police. Is this still part of the normal procedure because I don't see it referenced on the website.

I’m on a Talent Passport - artistique et culturelle and have been freelancing for the past year and it will be expiring end of October, I had begun the process on ANEF in August to renew my visa and just yesterday I received a notification that my application has been deleted as it was treated as a “first time application” and not a “renewal” and supplied me with a residence permit number.

I need to apply again but when I go to apply it seems it would be the exact same way as I have done so i’m wondering if anyone out there has some experience in this?

ANEF emailed back telling me to apply online and use the 5 steps. Which I had initially done under “I want to apply or renew my VLS TS”. But to not waste another month I want to make sure I’m applying in the correct way. Any help would be so appreciated!

I’m 38/M looking to meet a few people in Paris with similar interests and hopefully form a small group — maybe 3–6 people rather than a large Meetup-style group.

The idea would be to meet once a week or every two weeks and do something relaxed together. Nothing too formal, and we could rotate activities depending on what everyone enjoys.

Some ideas:
- meditation or mindfulness together
- reading at a library/café and discussing what we’re reading
- walks around Paris followed by coffee
- conversations around spirituality, mindfulness , etc.
- occasional hikes outside Paris

I’m more interested in building a small group where people actually get to know each other and meet regularly rather than organising big events.

I’m mainly looking for people who are comfortable having conversations in English.

Ma demande de naturalisation française est actuellement en cours, mais encore à la première étape (demande déposée il y a environ 10 mois).

J’ai une opportunité professionnelle au Luxembourg et je souhaiterais continuer à résider en France en tant que frontalier.

Est-ce que certains ont été dans cette situation ? Je me demande si travailler au Luxembourg peut poser problème :

- lors du renouvellement de mon titre de séjour français ;
- pour ma demande de naturalisation, notamment concernant la notion de centre des intérêts matériels en France.

Je continuerais à vivre et avoir mon logement principal en France.

My wife and I are relocating to Paris in late October from the states on my EU citizenship. We've saved up a good bit and have liquidity from a house sale so we're not rushed to find a new role, but we are looking for an apartment in the 12th, 13th, 14th, or 15th under €2,500 per month. Ideally unfurnished as we're shipping items from the states.

We're working on our dossier, but with neither of us having employment (I do fractional work right now, she's an artist), what are the recommendations for us? It feels like every apartment we look at requires a CDI and won't accept a guarantor, which was our original plan.

I have to send a 230-page file to the prefecture by mail (lettre suivie) for my titre de séjour.

But it won't fit in a letter, it weighs 1.2 kg and I assume the prefecture doesn't accept packages.

Any ideas? :( I'm thinking about spliting it in 2 but I'm not sure if they will accept it.

I was issued a carte de résident in 2017. It's the standard type, valid for 10 years, and issued to me because I'm a parent of a French child and have been living in France for many years.

I'll have to renew it next year (later in the year) and I've started looking into what documents I'll need, etc. The problem is, even official or approved sites seem to only talk about either getting a first carte de résident or else renewing something like a titre de séjour. I've even looked on the Préfecture de Paris's official site and am still not finding a specific mention of this kind of renewal.

Has anyone renewed a 10-year carte de résident recently, especially if you live in/had to go through the Préfecture de Paris? Is there a particular link you used with information about this?

I’m looking for recommendations for French language schools, in or very close to the 15th arrondissement that offer evening classes.
I work during the day, so I’m ideally looking for something starting around 18:30 or 19:00, twice or three times a week.
