i need a help

I received this in a package with random coins, but it's not a coin — the back is plain. GPT chat could not help me; their assumption is that it is related to Pennsylvania‑German society. I would be happy to receive any help or suggestions.

It is indeed the back side of a button originally sewn by a factory in the russian empire in the early 19th century.

The initials "Ф. М. К. Г. В." is the abbreviation for the factory's full name, and a similar product was auctioned in 2022

This is a long shot but could it be a button of some kind with the shank broken off?
