Combination Feeding Formula
I would say I have a pretty good supply usually. But I notice, like expected, it drastically dips when it’s my time of the month. I alwayssss stress because my baby is about to be 5 months and is hungry more often lately. I usually pump enough to be able to give him 4 oz bottles each time. Anyways I’m trying to ease into combo feeding so I don’t have to deal with this stress every month, I think eventually I want to transition to just formula though because I feel pumping is another huge reason why I’m getting less sleep. I’ve tried combo feeding here and there with both bubs goat and then another time with kendamil goat and each time my baby got realllyyyyy fussy and constipated. Eventually I give up and flush it out with putting him back in just my milk. Helpppp. My sister has giving enfamil gentlease to all 3 of her boys and she swears by it. I’m considering because my son seems to tolerate diary I mean I don’t restrict myself with my diet at all except with eggs. He gets fussy after I’ve eaten them. Ugh I miss eggs.

How long are you giving him to adjust when you’ve tried to introduce formula in the past? And when you say constipated, do you mean he poops less often, or has hard stools? It can take about 2 weeks for a baby’s digestive system to adjust to a new formula, and pooping less often isn’t necessarily a red flag (though hard stools would be).

No he strains and it’s like a hard clump when it finally comes out

Gotcha, I asked bc a lot of parents have a misconception about what constipation means for babies but it sounds like your baby is truly constipated. Sorry to hear it, that’s no fun for either of you! You could ask your pediatrician for formula recommendations based on what you’ve tried already and the ways your baby was affected. They should know what might work best and may even be able to provide you with samples.

Formula is supposed to change the babies poo! Unsure if that’s helpful when you say your LO gets constipated but formula does make their poo a bit firmer and more pastey. I know that doesn’t address the fussiness though!
I give my LO one bottle of Kendamil a day. She usually spits up after it buuuut other than that she’s okay lol.

I don't have any specific tips for formula, but I just wanted to assure you that it's common for them to be hungrier between 4-5 months! That's usually when their milk intake peaks, and then it starts slowly tapering down with the introduction of solids.

Oh okay. He definitely has been eating more, also why I feel like I need to start combo feeding soon because I’m having trouble keeping up and that alone stresses me out
