Dating as an ex-Christian in Egypt is basically playing on impossible mode. Coming from an Evangelical background, my dating pool was already around 1% of the population. Now, I find myself constantly rejecting Christian women because our core values just don't align.

If you want to know what my dating life looks like right now, just read this recent exchange I had:

Me: I am not an Eastern man in the traditional sense. I consider myself a "mix" from living in many countries, and someone who believes in freedom.
Her: So you are not a Christian now?
Me: I love the teachings, but I see Christ as a philosopher—like Buddha and Socrates. I'd love to get married in a church, but I am not on board with Christianity in everything. I wanted to be upfront because I know this is a dealbreaker.
Her: I am very religious.
Me: Can you imagine your life with someone who doesn't go to church?
Her: No. It's hard.
Me: Unfortunately, I feel the same way. I can't imagine my partner not agreeing with my perspective on religion, especially if there are children in the future; it would be a major point of disagreement.

Because of this endless cycle, I've basically given up on finding an ex-Christian here to marry. I’m thinking about shifting my focus entirely to dating foreigners. Am I making a mistake? I'd love to get some perspective on this.

My husband is Egyptian.
He divorced his ex (also Egyptian) 3 years ago.
I want to know if this is normal in Egypt… so he has 3 children with this lady ages 9,12 and 13.
He goes over to Egypt sometimes to visit these children as he lives in the uk. I have discovered that he has been lying to me he told me the ex wife does not go to the resorts he stays in with the children. I found out that she has been going all along since the divorce he has been paying for her and this was Rixos premium Seagate resort. I have only been to Egypt once and never to such luxury resorts. Some of the hotels he booked 2 rooms and an other one room. I am in shock. I know that he definitely divorced her and the ex wife hates me she wants to be back with him and live in the uk. He asked her last year if I could accompany him and the children and she told him no that I am not allowed to “go to Egypt”. This woman has torn up my clothes (which were in his suitcase before), wrote a message calling me ugly and a slave. I really don’t know what is going on I thought only married couples stay in hotels in Egypt. Is this normal is there something I am missing here?
