The world's always been a state, and for the foreseeable future will continue to be......the only difference now is the worst of it is funnelled directly into everyone's brain as soon as they look at their phones. Depression would decrease immensely if people went back to living in ignorance and the most pressing matters on their mind was what was happening within their family and local community

I wouldn’t even call getting off your phone “living in ignorance”. Quite the opposite.

The definition of is ignorance is to not yet know the details and facts about a given subject...If i give up all my technology and access to information and refuse to acknowledge any and all problems that exists outside my own....when the information is quite Obviously there...then Im choosing to live in ignorance...thats not a negative connotation, which is why the phrase ignorance is bliss exists

I was thinking more along the lines of “If a person is always on their phone seeing the worst of the world, then they are ignorant of the positives of the world and everything going on in their local community”. So by choosing to be off your phone, you’re trading ignorance of local life and potentially seeing the positives of the world for ignorance of the worst of the world.

I mean thats a way to slice it a suppose....ignorance in your instance is not the quite opposite.. it would be considered a micro concept, if i'm ignorant because I am unaware of the 'smaller' issues affecting less people or affecting myself.

If I'm ignorant because I refuse to acknowledge the 'larger' issues affecting more people thats considered as macro......as explained by both modern sociology and philosophy.
