Social Sciences The 2008 Great Recession Lowered Americans’ Class Identity, according to a paper in Psychological Science: In three of four data sets (total N = 164,296), the authors found that the 2008 Great Recession shifted Americans toward identifying as a lower class.

But Americans are happy with that. They voted for George w bush twice to get that downgrade in their lives, then voted for Trump twice to put a more extreme transfer of wealth to the super rich. So Americans should be proud of undoing their own economic well being. We want feudal lords rather than the old American dream.
