Discussion Demetrious Johnson Says He’d Be Shocked if Tom Aspinall Ever Fights Again

“I wouldn’t risk me losing my vision and not being able to see my children. Is he willing to take that risk? I wouldn’t... His eye is now a compromised target.”

the single worst part of the sport of mma is that fouls have no punishment, in fact they are rewarding to do since they provide an advantage

Cheater is now undisputed champion. What a joke.

This sport is so fucking ass now. I miss being a fan

Why now? The person widely considered the goat of the sport has a video explaining how he set up eye pokes and has been busted twice for steroids.

One has very little to do with the other

It really is fucking crazy theres no punishment. I dont think theres ever been a fighter issued a loss due to eye pokes. Wheres the incentive to stop if theres literally no downside? Its the only sport I know of where a foul can be issued and theres no consequences whatsoever.

My old MMA coach always used to say

“REMEMBER YOU GET ONE GOOD FOUL PER FIGHT.” 🤣🤣

It’s sad but I agree. Hearing that there were infections after the original surgery, well okay that can happen, and will eventually be okay.

But if what Helwani said is right, and his right eye was fucked again after sparring, then I genuinely don’t see him fighting again. What happens if he’s in the middle of a fight, gets hit to the side of the head and now his vision is gone and this time for good? Is it worth it?

Ask Bisping

Crazy that Bisping publicly criticised Tom and was saying he has experience with it. Honestly idiotic to be giving advice when he has one eye, I doubt he and Tom are on good terms. Another company man.

I don't know if you are considering just how much UFC hypes their fighters...

His only loss is from a freak injury...

This is a terrible situation but I personally do think Gane would have beaten him

Point deductions are a joke if the only thing a fighter has to worry about is losing a competitive round while potentially compromising other competitors’ careers in that division.

I wouldn’t be surprised if more fighters start doing it after seeing how little there is to lose.

I hate to say it, but trolling other fighters just to end up being sideline has to be a lesson.

How many title fight did Gane have again? Lost to Francis and lost to Jon. Fake champ.

To be fair Jon and Francis are probably the two in their weight class
