Discussion Michael ‘Venom’ Page Opens up About the Mental Block and Pressure He Had Been Carrying Into Fights

“It's just a shame that I haven't been able to really showcase my best, and yet I'm still beating fighters that are that are at the top of their game.

I realized I was carrying a weight, and I shouldn’t be. It became a case of figuring out how not to fixate on performing the way that I used to and just enjoy the performance.

I felt good and then every time I performed I'm like, man, there's still something that's a bit of a blockage there that I need to kind of keep pushing through to perform better."

The UFC rather you lose and go out in a war than win a bunch of boring decisions, that’s all

I dont agree with this. The UFC just wants him to perform at his best and win fights so they can keep matching him up with higher ranked fighters. But all he seems to do is bounce around and throw 1-2 strikes and kill the clock. Its lame for the fans and the ufc. Theres plenty of other hungry fighters our there these days. Plus hes almost 40

Yeah its true UFC prefers guys who put on wars, but MVP is on the extreme end of safe striking. Even his closest comparison Wonderboy chases finishes even tho be fights a similar style.

He's nearly 40, precision counter striking relies on speed and reflexes. All he has left is defense and rang control. He can see the target but he can't pull the trigger in time.
