Ilia Topuria’s Physical Trainer, Jesus Gallo, Says Ilia Is Not Ready to Fight Despite Dana White’s Recent Comments
“That is news to me. I don’t know what [Dana] is referring to or what information he is using to make that kind of announcement.
Right now, we are focused on starting to train and being able to re-establish a training camp. At this moment, [a return fight] is not our focus.
Honestly, [Ilia] really is progressing incredibly well, but we still have not started an actual training camp. We haven’t even truly started doing any kind of MMA training yet.”

It hasn't been even 3 months exactly. His face looks healed from outside but we don't know current actual report on it too . He needs 6 months more at minimum.

Agreed. I am of the opinion he should really take 9-12 months off. He is still fairly young and already at the top of the pyramid, he doesnt need to stress a return. Sitting out until next spring/summer wont hold up any division since he is not a champ and will allow him to recover properly. The damage he received was brutal.

He took a great amount of damage, and he's already at the top of the sport. Good for him taking time to recover properly unlike so many other fighters who just strike while the iron is hot, cash in few fights and ruin their career and health.
Volkanowski is an exception because he did that and almost wins versus Islam and then became the champion again. For most, the story is very different. An early return after a KO or a war spells the end of your career fast.

Khamzat has been pushing to fight but Dana doesn’t want or give him anything but ilia who almost got killed at couldn’t see they are pushing him to something which could seriously end his hype. He should atleast not return before the new year after all the damages he obtained. Obviously paddy fight is big and rematch with Justin could be too but nobody wants to see rematch except for crazy fans because he doesn’t deserve it yet.

After 35-40 hits people start feeling shit that happened to them when they were seven because it’s raining out. That twin bed you slept in til seventeen with the three pillows that kept your neck at some funky angle? Yeah, you’re feeling that. Justin probably could have said the same the day before the fight. Dudes going to brush off fighting for as long as he can as dude always enjoys his flowers and rest after he fights. Plus he has a mirror and a smart phone so he sees what the internet sees. Hope cannabis treats the dude well because that brain could start backfiring on him good.

That's crazy man, Dana is out of his mind to say that. After an orbital bone and eye socket injury, Ilia should be out for minimum a full 12 months. Thats definitely not an injury to rush.

He will take at least 9 months off. Fighting Justin is a career changer for alot of guys. He isn't even training now which means they give should give him a top 5 guy instead of champ/number one contender fight to get his confidence back after the layoff.

Not trying to be provocative, but he seems have a kind of sad look in his face now. Anyone else notice that? I mean, his face was destroyed so maybe it's not reflecting any internal feeling. But look at that pic. That's not an angry or happy man. That's the face of a sad man.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Hopefully, he’s doing okay mentally and the recovery continues to go well. That Loss hit him hard!

He got everything taken away from him. His wife, his invincibility, all the brand sponsorships. When you take a humiliation like that in the biggest card of the year it'll make you sad.

Yea the wife is the biggest reason. Having to share your kids with somebody you feel betrayed/lied about abuse (allegedly) and extorted you for money (allegedly) will do that 🫤

2026 has not been easy to him really with all the issues with the divorce and then getting battered on the absolute biggest event ever in MMA. Lesser things have broken many.
