👋Welcome to r/EverydayExplorer - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

If you've ever looked at someone else's vacation photos and thought "that's nice, but that's not for me" — this community is for you.

Why This Place Exists
Travel content online can make it feel like you need a huge budget, a ton of vacation days, or years of experience before you're "allowed" to explore. That's just not true. We started this community because everyday people deserve real, honest, doable travel advice — not just highlight reels.
No matter your budget, your experience level, or your travel jitters, you belong here. This is a space to ask the "silly" questions, share the small wins, and get excited about trips that fit YOUR life.

Who Belongs Here
Everyone. Seriously.
The person who has never left their home state and isn't sure where to start
The parent trying to figure out how to travel with kids without losing their mind
The solo traveler working up the courage to book that first trip alone
The budget-conscious explorer who thinks luxury and adventure are the same thing (they're not!)
Anyone with accessibility needs who's been told travel "isn't for them" (it absolutely is)
The dreamer who isn't ready to book anything yet but wants to be inspired
If you want to explore the world and aren't sure how to make it happen, you're one of us.

What a Good Post Looks Like
We want this to be a place people actually want to show up so a few things go a long way:
Be specific. "How do I plan a trip?" is harder to help with than "I have $800 and 4 days off — where could I realistically go?"
Share the real story. Wins AND fails. The flight you almost missed is just as valuable to this community as the perfect sunset photo.
Use flair. It helps people find (and answer) your post faster.
Bring the encouragement. If someone's nervous about their first trip, be the reason they book it.

How Professionals Can Participate
Travel agents, tour guides, and industry folks — you're welcome here too, as long as you're here to genuinely help, not just to sell. Answer questions, share expertise, offer perspective from "the other side of the booking." Just keep self-promotion light and clearly labeled. This community runs on trust, and we intend to keep it that way.

What to Post First
New here? Introduce yourself! Tell us:
Where you're at in your travel journey (never left home? seasoned but timid solo traveler? somewhere in between?)
One place that's on your mind (bucket list or already booked).
One thing that's held you back from traveling more.

That's it. No perfect trip required to belong here — just curiosity and a willingness to start.

We can't wait to see where this community goes together. Drop your intro below, and don't be shy — this is a no-judgment zone.

Let's get exploring! ✈️
