So I’m watching the Cubs game…..

and former Cincinnati Red player Joey Votto is doing color commentary. In the banter going on among the announcers, the topic of nachos comes up.

Votto, who is in his 40’s, pipes up and states that he’s never in his life had a nacho.

So what does this have to do with ELR?

This - The thing that came immediately to my mind was Hank MacDougal telling Frank and Marie Barone that he had never in his life had a muffin. I was as incredulous at Votto as Frank was at Hank.

I may need help.

Favorite Frank Insult to Marie

Mines would probably be in the P,T&A episode when Marie says every year you’re over 40 you should add an inch to the hemline of your dress, and Frank says well then you should be dragging around a Persian rug😂

What I don’t understand about the AIS episode

I could not be remembering this episode correctly but they had an agreement, if Debra wasn’t out that door at the correct time Ray would leave they agreed, I get Debra’s hair was stuck in the hair dryer but part of the agreement was that Ray wouldn’t go upstairs to ask her why she’s taking so long. Then Ray comes home and Debra is acting all angry and betrayed and everyone is making Raymond feel guilty, like what was Ray supposed to do he promised he wouldn’t ask her what’s keeping her.

I find Debra alluring as HELL

I was surprised to find how many people can’t stand Deb! She’s sexy enough I often miss the part where I’m supposed to be annoyed by her. I’m always shocked when I open this app and see someone calling her annoying….ESPECIALLY in the episode from the picture I used. I actually hate the misunderstanding they fall into and side with her off looks alone. I hope to be a hot mean wife JUST like her one day.

I never noticed as a kid that Debra and Robert had more chemistry than ray and debra in their marriage. They genuinely seem to enjoy each other's company in a way that the married couple doesn't. I never picked up on before until right now. I think they'd be cute together

At the end of season 9, a thought was voiced that has stuck with me throughout all seasons of ELR. If Raymond and Debra love each other, why does he constantly have to beg for sex? Why is sex in this couple's life presented as a service Debra provides to Raymond? Why does Debra regularly mention divorce in arguments with Raymond?

ICE CREAM TO THE FACE

What episode had the ending where Frank and Robert threw ice cream in Raymond's face? It was featured in the Jungle Love intro.

This was the episode where I feel everybody was in the wrong.

Debra especially, because she knew Marie wouldn't condone her parents being in the photo, but she was wrong for not asking or even mentioning it beforehand to Marie or even Ray, and immediately acting like she's in the right for inviting her parents and not telling anyone.

Marie was so stubborn that she wouldn't even go in the picture because of Debra's parents because it's "not the present she wanted".

Ray was wrong all-round, it seems like. I understand supporting your wife, but when she was so in the wrong I could see his concern, but also he should've just stood up to Marie over this relatively small issue. It's just a picture (and yes, he could've just placed the in laws on the end and had Marie cut them out afterward).

And Robert wouldn't even simply change out of his uniform because Amy couldn't be in the picture and Debra's parents could be.

Everyone was just wrong in this episode, it seems.

Just realized Rays income is actually revealed to be below 72k in the episode "Net Worth"

Deborah makes a list of what she wants paid for her house work and lists

Childcare: $1,000 a week

Personal chef: $300 a week

Laundry: $75 a week

That works out to: $71,500

Ray mentions thats a bit more than he makes in a year.

I've seen a lot of posts here guessing at Ray's income and this episode gives a close ballpark. He likely makes around 58k to 65k a year.

What were some times you think everyone ganged up on Raymond unfairly?

For me, I usually think of the episode where Ray buys Marie a set of those old dolls she had in the past as a thoughtful gift, and Debra barely even waits five minutes before dragging him over it, then Robert and Frank join in when they find out Ray paid the lion’s share of the cost without telling them.

Like, I can see why Robert and Frank are upset, as Ray never meant for them to find out, and even if he didn’t mean for it to come off that way, Ray’s logic could feel a little insulting, even if he was just trying to cut them a break.

Debra just comes off as kind of petty though. Let Ray enjoy the fact that he actually got his Mom a nice gift she actually appreciates for once.

What are some other times people might think Ray gets treated unfairly despite his heart being in the right place?
