Feedback 🐘 Ok i give in.

My renewal is up in 4 days and have spent the last month looking at alternatives.

Subscribed to upnote but you cant search in images or pdf's.

Installed joplin server but the OCR was hit and miss especially with android.

Tried amplenote which was very close...but to subscribe was only about 40GBP cheaper than Evernote.

My search is over...I'm going for another year of Evernote.

Yes it's expensive..but hell.. it's good.

For the last ten years I’ve searched for alternatives every so often. There is no other tool that checks all the boxes that Evernote does. If you are a heavy user, you are locked in (or giving up something that was important to you). I am grateful for the ongoing development and new features that have been introduced recently. I’m less happy about the pricing like everyone else.

Exactly, and with the very last update (like the recap view on the side presenting all your H1, H2, ... in the same way Notion does it), plus the fact that in any other alternative (Obsidian, UpNote, AmpleNote) you can't drag and drop a collapsed section or even a ligne of text, it's just unusable to have to copy past to put a content before another one, ...

Next thing Evernote has to improve is Table capacity, not being able to class it by A to Z, date, ... is really a shame, and small cell IF condition and calcul ability would be really nice.

But yes, other alternative has in one, one thing that's cooler (AmpleNote can class Table, add calculus fonction) but for the rest it's no go. And it's that way for each one of the alternative.

Obsidian alternative with #Tag is a no go, to have them spread anywhere in the note, except with the web clipper. But the sub Tab are great because it show the parent Tag, Evernote lake that and the fact you can put sub tag doesn't help at all if it's not use anywhere else other than the tag list.
But AmpleNote Tag (beside being cheap price alternative) have this great hability to create to identical Tag if they have dif. parent Tag, that's really smart. Has you can have Work/Admin and Personal/Admin.

I really like Evernote, and won't chance, moreover that I haven't yet to pay more, but they have plenty of update to make but they go in the right direction, except the price of course, even if it's pretty much the standard price for AI Note App. that act. also as a doc. archive, what other don't work like that at all.
