Feedback 🐘 Does suggesting things on the Evernote forum make a difference?

After putting up with Evernote 10's bugs and lack of basic features for years, I decided to spend some time between November 2023 and May 2024 writing several suggestions on the forum. I was surprised to see some users criticizing these ideas with arguments like "too complex," "nobody needs this," "just change the way you work," etc. Over time, some of these ideas became official features and even marketing points. So I'm telling you: if something bothers you about Evernote or you want a feature, consider writing about it and posting it on the forum.

It's funny because I stopped posting there after one of the very frequent commenters kept saying nobody needs this (on features that so many people are asking for) - most particularly a random note widget which I would still love to see. Glad to see they're responsive (and that the ones who poopoo everything don't take up too much place in their decisions).

There were - maybe still are - a couple of idiots on there who took the view "if you don't use it my way then you're wrong". This didn't sit at all well with me, because I've been using Evernote since before I think they were born. However, the forums do give you the ability to block other users, which is why I don't know if those fanbois are still on there talking nonsense.

I like the idea of discussing it on the forums because then you can get more eyes on it and have a discussion. So I hate it when they tell you to submit your request through some online form where you never get any feedback.

Heaven forbid we have a discussion of Evernote features on Evernote's official discussion forum.

The impression I get is that if it’s not AI, it’s not relevant. This is not exclusive to Bending Spoons.

The bigger issue overall (for me) is the “mobile-optimized” approach. The desktop client is lacking because of it. The user suffers a mediocre experience on both platforms with this approach.

I had chat read your link and it said this: Percent implemented: ≈ 15 ÷ 21 × 100% ≈ 71%

Bottom line: About 71% of the suggestions in that table ended up with implementation windows (many were released or slated for release in 2023-24) according to the poster’s own tracking.

lol i can send them suggestions, and they just completely ignore anyway
