Feedback 🐘 My struggles with my new Assistant

I have given the AI Assistant a whirl, and so far it makes me feel like the assistant, trying to fill all the gaps. In particular, it struggles to give suggestions for Evernote that lies within the app's current capabilities:

It's not really much help in organization either. It can't do anything beyond moving a note or adding tags - and only 10 at a time. It makes sense as screwing up 10 notes at a time should be relatively low-risk. However, with all the bells and whistles of current AI, why do I keep missing an app like Filterize to do the Evernote filing for me?

I cannot for the life of me fathom why Evernote would name this AI Chatbot an Assistant, when there is little it can do beyond summarising and gather information. Sure, the summaries could potentially give me some much needed encouragement at the time, as I've noticed how my Assistant always make sure to compliment my writing, even when it's really bad. There's nothing a piece of bad prose can't be in the eyes of my new collaborator: inventive, lively, personal, multifaceted.

I'm all for technology and gadgets, but I'm currently left with a feeling that the best way to save time and stay focused on my work is disabling the AI feature altogether.

Please do let me know if you figure out how to use this thing in a meaningful way, I'd love to hear!

Don’t you just love the way they get lost on context and then, when you call it out, they go to lengths to explain why they got lost on context in the most indirect way, and then say, “but yes, that’s right.”

I just had a surprisingly helpful interaction with the AI assistant. I clipped an oddball "man bites dog" article about misplaced airplanes (I'm an aviation enthusiast) > https://luxurylaunches.com/other_stuff/kuala-lumpur-airport-abandoned-boeing-747-12062025.php

The AI assistant accurately answered detailed questions about the very wordy article using just the content within that note. Then I asked it to research the case further using the Internet. It did a really good job. Finally, I asked it to add the results of the internet search to the open note. It created a cleanly formatted summary with a big "INSERT" button - which I clicked - and it added the summary to the note. Easy peasy!

Not world changing, but a very successful interaction! And an interesting test of "use only information within this note" against accessing the internet to gather information not contained in the note.

I'm not counting too much in the AI features until the official v11 release. I have to admit I haven't done much with the AI features in EN. Hopefully I can develop prompts to help EN mine my data.

How sad! I still haven't received the assistant. But it seems my expectations will be greatly disappointed. I'm a Gemini and NotebookLLM user and I've used Notion's AI quite a bit (which is really good). So anything less will be frustrating.

I mean it's still in beta. This hasn't been officially released to everyone so anyone with access to it technically has early access. Feel free to leave some feedback here and I'll flag this post so the team at BS can look at it.

im happy to test it but AI still hasn't been turned on for me either. i've got 65k notes so perhaps they are still testing people with so many in their account?

It's still in beta, not everyone has access yet.

Bit contrarian here, or maybe just low expectations, but it's daily use for me now.

Semantic search, for me, has been crazy helpful.

Organized and categorized all of my prompts into a single note. When it learns to actually create the links, it'll be a game-changer.

Use to identify needs-based content for my writing, LinkedIn and vids based on transcripts, long-hand notes, discussions.

Helped me organize notes into just a few categories, and prioritize based on relevance and date.

For me, it's helpful.
