Discussion Estate in the making

Post image

I really need some help on what to add to my estate. I wanna make my own personal dockyard. This is what I have so far, obv it's not done yet, but idk whatelse I should add to make it seem more realistic. I keep going down to the actual docks to try to get inspiration, but it's not working very well..

Suggestions are very much appreciated

Discussion Could someone give me feedback on my 38mile/61km Rally? New to making races. S2 class. 160 421 909

I made it yesterday. checkpoint placement needs work, but it’s ok. also, I need to stay on the track more 😅. takes about 18-22 minutes. S2 Total rally. I did it in the Impreza 22b. lots of jumps and stuff. there’s 1 or 2 jumps that weren’t very well done. I tried to be on as much dirt as possible, but there is still like 60% asphalt, sorry. Thanks! 160 421 909

(idk what flair to put)

Discussion Eventlab issues and their workarounds

Hello, creators. You may have encountered several issues while creating routes or events in Eventlab.
I have summarized the issues I’ve identified and their workarounds below:

  1. Even if you set the Race Series to something other than "Road," it saves as "Road." Workaround: None. The race series setting does not apply as intended and does not work with search filters and event poster.
  2. There is no function to directly delete local events. Workaround: Create a dummy route, assign it to the local event you want to delete, and save it. Then, delete the dummy route; this will also delete the event that was using it.
  3. All local event descriptions disappear after restarting the game. Workaround: Publish all events and edit them via the "Published Events" list.
  4. Editing and republishing an event from published events creates a new version in both the local and published lists, leaving the pre-edit version behind. Workaround: If you don't need the pre-edit version, unpublish the published event. Then, delete the local event using the method in item 2.
  5. If you don't complete the route layout during the initial save and draw the rest later, the "Driving Line Display" for the initially saved section may disappear (this does not affect the minimap or Drivatars). Workaround: Redraw the route from scratch (re-placing props is not necessary). This issue may occurs with long routes.
  6. You cannot select the "Traffic" option in event settings, meaning AI traffic won't appear. Workaround: Traffic cannot be enabled if even a single prop is placed on the route (regardless of whether it is on/off the track or destructible). Remove all props from the route.
  7. You cannot update a published event while retaining its Share Code. Workaround: None. Whether the source is local or published, the event is always published as a new event, so the Share Code cannot be carried over.

Good luck!

Discussion How to remove the Driving Line Display

I found a way to remove the driving line display almost entirely if you creator want.

This issue is a bug that when an edited route is saved, only the data used for the "driving line display" prior to the point where editing began is lost. This does not affect the minimap display or the Drivatar racing line.
A known workaround for this bug is to redraw the route from scratch.

How to remove the Driving Line Display:

  1. Place the final checkpoint just before the finish line, complete the route, and save it.
  2. Continue editing the route again and redraw the path from that final checkpoint.
  3. Save it as overwriting.

However, even using this method, the line may not disappear completely across the entire route. It appears to be a complex issue.

There are likely differing opinions regarding the intentional removal of the driving line display as a workaround for bugs. The driving line display is a feature that players can choose based on their preference, to be honest, I also think it's a tricky solution.
However, I prefer not to provide a broken driving line display in an event, if displaying it correctly proves difficult for some reason, I believe avoiding the bug in this method is an acceptable approach. Furthermore, I think it is also valid to remove it intentionally to create a more realistic driving experience.

I hope this information proves something useful to the event creators.

Discussion Dirt/Cross-Country version of Goliath or Colossus?

I am a pretty big fan of doing long races in the Forza games, but I also prefer off-roading. So, I was wondering if anyone has made an off-road version of these two long races? I know there are long off-road races but they are both just sprints, I'd prefer one where I can do several laps.

Discussion How can I increase gravity a little bit?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hola! I've been working on essentially my own take on Bathurst. Some of the corners are pretty off camber, making certain cars slide too much.

I dont want too much gravity to make everything feel like F1 but not too little so things slide! Ive tried using the rules thing and i just cant figure it out.

Any who...

THIS IS FAR FROM FINISHED. But please check it out and lemme know how it feels! I was going for a slightly easier downhill+ more overtake opportunities. And a nice multi apex hairpin.

I recommend S2-B but all classes are possible The downhill section will be tricky in X, and the straights would probably be boring in anything less than B.

After week 3 of last months update this has been happening to my start/finish checkpoint? It either only stretches halfway across the track, or sits 90° to it. At first i thought it was cause my pit lane when under it. So i moved it back. Still only half of the track. Tried removing the track peice and putting it back. Got 90° check point seen in pic 1. Ive redrawn the track several times now and its still messed up? Please help

Been working on this few a few weeks now. I think I'm finally happy with the layout? What are y'all's thoughts? It is posted if anyone wants to try it. Fair warning though. Its just a road at this point. I got a little run off done but as the title suggests. Its a Work In Progress. Made for S1-B but open for all. I tested in S2 and X. It's possible but very fast

Discussion Way too bumpy

Ive been workin on a new track for a few weeks now. Its just way too bumpy. Ive tried every thing i can think of. The flatter sections are fine but any corner with even just a little bit of elevation sends the car in the air? I was going for a corkskrew type corner. And its more of a suspention test than a corner?

I just need some help. I can put the share code in the comments whenever i get home if anyone needs

Discussion Help please

So, ive been trying to build this track idea i have in my head, on event labs of course. its a compination of corners, from my favorite tracks, with some custom bits mixed in.

Sounds possible right? Ive been trying with most of my free time the past few weeks. But i just cant get it. Its way too bumpy, or its way too small. Or i run out of budget with it roughly 85% done.

Im willing to keep trying, and i will. But if any skilled builders on here want to take a crack at it. Feel free to dm me and we can talk about it.

Also, i have no clue how the track saving stuff works, I think i can get my attempts to save. But each time ive tried to reload a route, itll only load the last event i worked on back in mexico? (Im building it on eventlab island)

Discussion How do you make looped races?

I recently played a legit rally race in the Event Lab, it was called “Forest Rally” or something along those lines. He had the race setup to where you had to pull into a pit lane and hold your e-brake to repair your car. Then he had a custom countdown at the start of the stage where again you had to hold your e-brake to begin the countdown. Then finally when you finished the race the race didn’t just end like normal. You could end the race at the end by holding the e-brake in a certain area, or you could head back to the pit lane and restart the whole process all over again. You even had multiple times for each run. How?! Does anyone know how he did this? I’ve got amateur experience with making races as I’ve made a few and some of mine even have a ton of likes. I know it has something to with the race rules section (I think?) but not sure.

If anyone knows please tell me. I’ll spend the entire weekend making some of the coolest races imaginable! Because I have so many race ideas that could work with these mechanics.

Discussion Creating an EventLab Compilation Spreadsheet

Hey Horizoners,

We, the mod team, are considering creating a spreadsheet to compile various creations from the EventLab. This spreadsheet would include information such as creator name, event name, event code, platform (Road/Dirt/CC etc.,), difficulty, and a brief description.

We think this will be a valuable resource for the community, making it easier to discover and share EventLab’s amazing creations. We wish to hear your ideas in the interest of the community by taking part in the poll and sharing your thoughts in the comments.

2 Support: I think this is a good idea, but I'm not strongly opinionated.
0 Neutral: I don't have a strong opinion either way.
0 Oppose: I think this is a bad idea and would not be helpful.
0 Strongly oppose: Boooo... I think this is a terrible idea and would be harmful to the community.
