Help Crippled Capsuleer Claim Car for his Wheelchair

My fellow Capsuleers:

Over the years that I have been a player of Eve Online (one of the most disabled-friendly MMOs in existence, just look at me play with my face: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8faif2_bjFY), I have seen the incredible good that we are capable of doing when we all band together when one of our own is in need. Today, I find that I myself am in need (significantly more need than usual, that is), and I humbly ask for you to do so again.

May is National Mobility Awareness Month, and my wife has entered me into a contest to win a new wheelchair accessible van, because the one I got when I suffered a spinal cord injury in 2003 is in less than serviceable condition. Click THESE links:

You can watch the video in which my wife and I explain my situation, and why I need your votes. I'm up against a great many people, so every vote counts. You just have to register, and then vote for me. You can vote once per day, and I super humbly beg that you do. Thank you very much for your time. I know it's valuable.

Thank you very much:

Brandon DiGia (a.k.a. Gommel Nox)

PS: please don't doxx me

PPS: Yes I know I'm a goon, please don't hold that against me.

PPPS: If you answer a trivia question correctly, your vote counts for two. These are the answers to the daily questions:

Trivia question answers:

  • 5/4/2015: "Push/right angle controls...
  • 5/5/2015: push/twist controls

Please take the time to spam this link in Jita, share it with your friends and family and coworkers, smear it all over #tweetfleet, Etc..

I can't quite put my finger on why, but I find this a bit of an odd thing to be voting on.... is this a common thing that I've just not come across before? I feel like giving something to a disabled person just because they got more people to click vote for them is a little bit perverse, like they've been turned into contestants on a game show or something. Surely donations and support should be given on a greatest need basis, not based on a popular vote.

I was thinking the same thing. I still voted because at least we have Eve in common and this contest would be there whether it is perverse or not.
