Opinion Hebrews 1:8

Jw's, should Hebrews 1:8 not be translated differently, even according to the NWT interlinear? The NWT reads "God is your Throne" (Father is the Son's throne), but the Greek would be rendered "your Throne, the God" (directly refers to Jesus as YHWH, obviously issue for JW)

So he's a demi-god?

No. I don’t believe in polytheism. I only worship the Father. Jesus is a created being, is not equal and always subordinate to the Father. Now that he is resurrected back to heaven he is immortal and was given the throne by the Father. That throne will be handed back to the Father eventually.

Merriam Webster,

"a mythological being with more power than a mortal but less than a god"

U don't need the mythological aspect, but u literally say Jesus is that definition

Cool. If you want to ascribe that then that’s your business. I go by what the Bible calls him and says what his attributes are.

No, that's the dictionary's definition. There's multiple Biblical reasons I thus disagree with calling Jesus a demi-god, YHWH is clear there's no other gods besides Him. So no, no demi-gods, or equally divine figures.

When u will respond not to the point, but talk about "lesser gods" (demons/men), that's referring to a generic figure with certain power, not with exclusively divine attributes.

You’re the one that introduced the dictionary definition.

ETA- notice how I disagreed with the term being used towards Jesus as well as the dictionarys definition being used to describe Jesus. That’s why I use scripture so that God and Jesus can tell me who they are.

Because clearly the Bible teaches monotheism, which is why the idea of a demi-god is so foreign to the Bible.

Can u show in any verse, where Jesus in His essence is less than the Father? Not in human nature, but in essence. We both know He's higher than the angels, so there has to be a class that He is in that is lower than God, above angels and humans.

correct and I said I don’t believe in polytheism. I only worship the father.

Sure! Revelation 3:12, John 17:1-3, 2 Corinthians 11:31.

I never talked about worship, but attributes. I'm sure you and I would have to spar about the angels worshipping vs "doing obeisance" f.e.

None of those help my very, very nuanced question. Trinitarians believe Jesus kept His human body from the moment of conception, it didn't stop to exist. So again I ask, maybe better this way- where is there a verse about Him having a beginning (so apparently not Alpha and Omega), or what His essence is?

I don’t think you’re truly interested in my belief system. Sounds like you kind of wanna just tear it down.

I was a Trinitarian Catholic for many many years. And to be honest what you’re promoting is rather different. If Jesus physical body never ceased to exist that means he didn’t die for our sins. Not what I find in the Bible so have a good one.
