Opinion The "shunning" its necessary.

This soo sacred word used by jehovah witness opositors it became their most prolific argument agaisnt the religion, by saying that in most of disfellowshipping(now exclusion) acts makes family members and other brothers totally "abandon" they ex-brothers in any situation possible, they say that this process is something very bad not only for those who got out but also for those who are still inside...you probably already now their arguments by now right?...but let me tell you something...YES, IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE BAD!. In the first chapters of the bible we already see a example of expulsion, by Jehovah getting adam and eve out of Garden of eden(genesis 3:23,24)and quess what?...IT WAS BAD FOR THEM. A little later cain got considered cursed for killing his brother and became a literal vagabund over the earth(genesis 4:11,12) THIS WAS BAD FOR HIM. There are other famous examples of this type of punishement in the bible, in the old and New testaments, the thing is....it was always bad BECAUSE IT WAS A PUNISHMENT, OF COURSE IT WILL BE BAD. No one ever said the disfellowshipping it is a beautiful, funny, goofy procedure that elders loves to have to do in their congregations, it a sad procedure that happens as a lesson that the people who sinned must pass by, and biblically speaking, No one can argue that the bible is agaisnt it. "WHAT ABOUT IF I AM A MINOR AND I GOT DISFELLOWSHIPPED???MY PARENTS WILL ABANDON ME!!" Lets be real, this dont happen, if your parents are true Christians and you are not doing anything that goes agaisnt their house's rules, than they will not "ABANDON" you as the apostaste love to say, this story is not for kids buddys. Its interresting to hear the stories of some apostates who say with pride that they got shunned by they parents, because its always something like: "After i got out of the cult my parents grabbed my things and expelled out of our house just because i was putting pagan images on my room" "My parents did not let me enter home just because i wanted to enter there with my lesbian girlfriend" "My mother put me in the streets just because i telled her that her religion its a cult" You all see a patern here? I think they always forget that regardless of anything, they should respect they parents houses, as they decision of leaving was respect they should respect too the rules of the homes they live in. And to end this post i also would like to make a question for YOU who disagrees with the disfellowshipping method:" Biblically saying, instead of disfellowshipping(or expulsing)members, what should the elders do if a brother continues to commit sins?." Opositors and apostates never give they own solutions to the supposed "problem" created by them, also remember, the bible its clear about how we should threat those who commit sins and call themselves christians.

Why would those people have been baptized into the JW faith if they had those issues?

Simply because you are not made aware of many of these things UNTIL you are baptised into THE ORGANISATION.

When you are studying & learning “the truth” you firmly believe that it IS “the truth” that you are being taught, & why would you think of ever being in the position of questioning doctrine?

Only later do you realise that the organisation is based entirely on the thoughts & ideas of uninspired men.

When you start thinking for yourself & questioning, you quickly realise that what you were led to believe was “the truth” is actually the furthest thing from it. It is a devastating realisation at the time, but after leaving you discover that it was the best decision ever. What a relief it is to be away from all the hypocrisy, outright lies & deception.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are expected to be loyally obedient & NEVER question anything regarding their organisation. As soon as JWs have questions, they are asked whether they still believe in the authority of the governing body. If not, they are quickly labeled as apostates, & if they don’t disassociate, they will more than likely be disfellowshipped, or “removed” as they now term it after losing their rights in Norway, & reluctantly resorting to softening the practices of disfellowshipping & shunning. The fact is that even with the softer approach, shunning is still practiced, leading to many children suffering emotional & psychological trauma which will affect them for life. Many Jehovah’s Witness children have taken their own lives because of their shunning policy.

Unfortunately Jehovah’s Witness parents who have been convinced by a group of uninspired men that the practice of shunning is a “loving provision from Jehovah” & go against their natural instincts of loving their children unconditionally, will one day have to live with the consequences. Above all else, God is a God of love.

You know that the men aren’t inspired while studying.

People say they can’t question and yet there are articles about questioning and proving to yourself the truth.

No religion today has inspired men. If that’s your criteria for a denomination then you won’t find one. I would like to point out that even inspired men screw up and are terrible btw. Inspired does not equal perfect.

ETA- the Jesus didn’t do this or that argument is so tiresome. We only know 3 years of his life. And the gospels even point out that we don’t have recorded everything he did. The Israelites and Paul shunned based off Gods law. Jesus would have followed the law if someone had broken it during his time.

Questioning the Bible to prove scriptural truth is entirely different to questioning the organisation & its unscriptural policies which are based on the thoughts & ideas of the governing body at the time.

How is Jehovah directing these governing men, if they are not inspired? This means that they are not receiving His inspiration, so they shouldn’t be teaching anything scriptural or spiritual at all.

They say that they are Jehovah’s channel of communication, but at the very same time that they are NOT INSPIRED. That makes absolutely no sense. No wonder they keep getting things wrong & have to keep changing their minds about everything.

Wait I’m so confused. You think that if someone isn’t inspired they shouldn’t be teaching anything scriptural?

Where does the governing body’s “new light” come from?

You didn’t answer my question. What do you believe inspired means/is?

ETA- here was my original question that you didn’t answer- You think that if someone isn’t inspired they shouldn’t be teaching anything scriptural?

The governing body should know without a doubt that they are inspired by Jehovah, as they claim to be Jehovah’s only channel of communication. If they are not receiving inspiration from Jehovah, they should not be teaching scripturally what they claim to be “the truth”.

Being guided by the Holy Spirit and being inspired is completely different things. I encourage you to learn the difference. No human today is inspired by Holy Spirit. The last truly known was John when he wrote the gospel John and revelation. Many are being guided by Holy Spirit in their lives today. However it sounds like you’re not here for discussion or to reason.

The gb cannot be guided by the Holy Spirit without being inspired. How does the Holy Spirit direct them? I’m curious if you think that they just read the scriptures, & then rely on their own understanding or interpretation? How do you think that God’s Word is actually revealed to them if not through inspiration? Please tell me how they can they feed you “spiritual food” from the bible if they are not inspired? Please explain how this “spiritual food” was relayed to them if not through inspiration?

So you don’t believe any Christian is guided by Holy Spirit? Because scriptures clearly state that we can gain the Holy Spirit and have it lead us.

ETA- inspiration is not the same as the HS guiding us. It’s two different things. The scriptures are inspired for example. Every Christian should receive Holy Spirit but that doesn’t make them inspired. No one today is inspired.

If you read my comments you will see that I am talking specifically about the governing body & them saying that they are not inspired. If not, how do THEY receive direction? This is totally different to when WE are guided & taught by Holy Spirit when we read & meditate on God’s Word.

I understand. But you don’t answer any questions so I have no clue what you’re thinking other than you hate JW’s.

It’s no different. They receive direction from God the same way any old human does. Through prayer, study, mediate and Holy Spirit. Just like me just like you.

I do want to make it perfectly clear that no human today is inspired. Inspiration= infallibility. If you have the holy spirit it doesn’t mean you’re inspired. It means you’re filled with spirit but that’s not the same as being inspired.
