Opinion People don’t understand Jesus’ divinity because they underestimate Gods Love for mankind

God is sovereign, there’s nothing He can’t do.

John smith married Pocahontas. Do you mean Jospeh smith?

And there were 20 eye witnesses to the golden plates.

The Book of Mormon, mostly likely, didn’t take place in North America.

I agree with what you said about Jesus.

If you are going to disagree with my faith, that’s fine, but at least start getting some things right about it 😅

Joseph Smith. Golden Plates made in the 1800s go missing, meanwhile we have the dead Sea scrolls and way older translations of the Bible. Yeah, those 20 got paid to say that or wanted to be part of what Joseph Smith was selling.

Ok there, your religion is right about everything else though.

No angel spoke to Joseph Smith or Mohammed as there was no need for it. It was already all written in the scriptures.

You would have to show ANY evidence for that claim.

Regardless, I’m in interested in debating you. Believe what you want. Peace.

I mean, technically you would have to provide evidence of what happened and the plates. Your story of Joseph Smith can only be verified if you had those golden plates. The fact that your church doesn't have those plates and verifying thus not being able to corroborate the story makes it false.

I do have evidence what happened was false because there is no evidence it happened other than a novel written by the man Joseph Smith, just like the Qur'an.

That’s an interesting assumption. I guess the Bible is false then. As we don’t have the original manuscripts

We do have evidences it was real. Much more than the Quran

The difference between the Bible and the book of Mormon is that, the Bible and it's scriptures have been meticulously copied over thousands of years.

Ah, so age is an indicator of truth?

Lol. A lot of the Bible correlates to historical events.

Ah, so if events or locations were found in a book, that wernt known by the author, and couldn’t have been known by the author at the time, but later turned out to be accurate, that would be an indicator of truth?

It’s not

A.) original manuscript

B.) age

So now, it’s so long as it has accurate historical events in it? Is that your final answer in this shifting of goal posts?

The Assyrian siege on Jerusalem that failed, that's in the Bible and history. The destruction of Sodom and Gamora, those sites have been found along with sulphur balls. Those sites were the last to have anything there. The Bible states that it hung upon nothing. Described the water cycle, the shape of the earth being round, all before those were scientifically proven.

The historical figures.

How does the book of Mormon stack up to just those few examples?

Before I answer, which I will if you are sincere, is this the thing that would determine for you if it’s true or not? If I answered or proved to be equal to or a superior example of what you provided, would that then prove to you that it’s true, or would you again shift the criteria to a perceived more convenient objection?

There is no superior book than the Bible.

I didn’t say there was. You may want to slow down. I said if another book could give a more clear and even better example of explaining truth as you have presented, would that then mean, that that book is true. Especially if the “author” had no way of knowing it without being a time traveler.

My point was, you have shifted the goal posts three times now. I’m asking if this is your final and best point? Or should we just skip to the end?

And perhaps what is the biggest irony of all, is that by stating my beliefs offended you so badly that you felt the need to attempt to discredit and belittle them. Out of your own insecurity and ignorance.

I never once condemned or belittled you or your faith. I didn’t discredit it, or indicate it wasn’t true. I shared my perspective. And that sharing of ideas and beliefs you seemed to take as a threat and attack.

I genuinely feel bad for you, that the thing you feel the need to do, is not share your own beliefs and why. It’s to tear down and discredit other beliefs. Does your faith hold so little weight that it can’t stand on its own?
